I think buying outside will be cheaper, the retail price for 3000 is RM 219.

Although, if you have family or friend working for Petronas, you can get their help to get it for only RM 150+ like I did tongue.gif

Somne SC has no problem with it, some insist on using their own, which translates into "hey, you must buy the EO here, at our shop, so we can have extra profit!" laugh.gif Like I mentioned in previous post, I personally called the Proton Edar, asking whether we can bring our own EO, they said it's fine and won't void warranty, at the discretion of the SC.

Engine oil is no different than petrol fuel, it's up to you which brand you want to use. Have you ever heard any car manufacturer forces you to fill petrol at only particular brand?

oooo...i normally service at sec13...not sure whether they allow to use my own EO anot

mayb can try other brand like liqui molly etc biggrin.gif

anyone of u having "tak tak" sound coming from around left rear passenger seat?...i already removed the rear dashboard etc and still couldnt find where the sound came from...some ppl adviced that it's actually caused by the metal rod which cross between left and right side of the boot..but after tryin to search around for rattling component of the boot..i dont think the sound came from there...it should be somewhere under the left rear speaker..where could it be??..anyone has this problem?

I did, then I bounced myself on the rear seats (left and right) and a loud 'fitting' sound occurred. After sometimes driving, the noise disappeared. I know it's annoying when the sound appears every time you turn.

for me...the noise came out whenever my car is moving...worst thing is..i cant even find the root cause of it despite stripping off the dashboard, boot carpet etc...urg!!

Bro,

Refer to post #586 in this forum for solution.
Actually i found the problem and solved it already. Seems that the gap between the rear wheelhouse and rear panel is making the ngek ngek sound. All you need to do is to get a screwdriver, insert at the gap and pull down, there you will make a bigger gap thus creating space and eliminating the noise.
You can find the pic at Prevoc FB.

If it does not work, use cellotape to secure the two boot spring metal rod to prevent it from moving around.

If not, send to mudguard shop and knock around the metal sheets to find the source of the noise?

bro..the noise in the video exactly same like urs?..

coz actually i viewed ur post #586 before...but i dare not use the screwdriver to make bigger gap la..i just tried to tug in a piece of cloth into the gap just to make sure the noise is caused by the gap..but still..the noise appeared...not sure whether i tuck in not enuf cloth or the cloth method doesnt work...but the noise definitely come from around that wheelhouse area

hi there, watched ur video. same prob experienced here. any solution yet? thanks
*
nope..havent solved yet...some recommend to use screwdriver to make the gap in the boot bigger etc..but i dont think i will do that since im not 100% sure the noise is coming from there and uncertain that the screwdriver method will work for me...plan to bring in over to SC end of year

I don't know about others but why don't you complain to Proton and let them fix the ngek ngek sound? Or they are reluctant to look at it?

From my experience, there is always a risk with opening, dismantling panels that may result in other sound popping up here and there, not to mention breaking the tiny plastic clips that hold the panel in place if not careful. Sometimes it is inevitable even if one is careful. Sometimes it is better to leave it as it is in order to prevent more sound from popping up due to loose panels.

As one of the technician the Nissan workshop used to say in Cantonese "hoi yat pai, charn yat pai". (Open one time, deterioriates more).

My advice is if the rattling sound is minor, better to just leave it as it is. Only if it is loud to the point of annoying enough then only it is worthwhile to resolve it.

some of us prefer to DIY rather than keep wasiting time sending the car over to SC..and this provided you are 'brave' enough to pry open or dismantling the panels...

even if sending the car over to SC, we cant be 100% sure they wont break ur parts or causing scratches all over the panel..that's why some rather trust their own hands..like for my case, the more i pry or dismantling the parts, the more i understand bout how certain components are assemble, if lucky, may even solve the very exact problem...

if you think SC got more experience or will treat your car gently, then you are wrong...even if they dismantle a part and broke a clip, they will just cover it back and pretend nothing happened untill you discover it months/years later...for my driver side window controller panel, they can even lost my the window controller panel screw cap...matter too small for me to complain, just close one eye whistling.gif ...

that's why some ppl say..owning a proton car will teach u DIY skills..

The car was moved from parking bay to service bay at 10am and only can get my car at 5:30pm. Payment counter closed already, luckily got service advisor knows how to use that credit card machine.

Took a day off and camp there, still stuck in hectic Kesas and LDP jam  sad.gif  thought they can finish ealier.

Tik tik sounds at rear not solved, from EON PJ to COSE...haiz, need to locate where is the metal bar myself already, if not mistaken, got forumer posted a photo before.

Power windows coil springs recall, done.

Seat (fury, "berbulu") all changed, I only requested driver and front passenger side only, as I don't usually carry passenger at the back, but they changed all, well done.

Last, is the third free labor charge, I COULD NOT redeem. Reason, the first three free service vouchers, must redeem on first year, my car just 1 year and 6 days old, at the end I have to pay the labor charge for the 10K service. Before this, I do 1K (semi oil), 5K (semi oil). Anyone experienced the same too?

Funny thing is their system has problem, the bill printed out all 0.00, but of course, I have to pay to check out.
RM 195.05 (semi oil, oil filter, gasket) + labor, very minimum, no treatment etc.
No choice already, my final hope at COSE they also no bother to fix it.
Can, almost no question asked, driver side right part can see "bulu" came out already.

the tak tak sound still cant be solved?...which SC u sent to in PJ

the sound not necessary coming from the metal sheet...some ppl said even though they widen the gap, the problem still there..some say that it is actually the rear left suspension hitting the car body, once SC tighten it, problem will be solved..try that
