hi guys, it's my first time to take my CFE to a long drive. too bad I can't speed fast enough due to break in period but I love the auto cruise!
The thing was I could hear some rumbling sound when I'm braking from a fast speed. Its like running over hazard/rumble strips. Anyone who can relate to this? Is it an issue I need to take during my first 1k service?

QUOTE(ben3003 @ Oct 14 2013, 07:00 PM) the infamous helicopter braking sound.. yeah tell ur SC, make sure they fix it, mine they changed the whole rotor. they never improve, even after 1 yr still same >< omg.. my chassis no. is 38xxx but I actually feels that I am given an old model (sigh). By the way, is it still safe to continue to drive it?

QUOTE(gkl83 @ Oct 15 2013, 06:08 PM) I guess newer batch doesn't means good... Mine 36xxx free of hassles, hence my car tested by the famous Drex (EA boss who driving preve) too... So far so good even though he pushed my car for testing... except 1 of the horn inoperative as found by Drex that time... Anyway Drex owned 38xxx too and found quite number of defects too... You are right.. lucky you have a knowledgeable trusted friend to test it. Do you mean you haven't experience this helicopter sound or whatsoever it is? I've been reading some forums and they are mentioning about ABS, ESC functioning. I wonder if it's due to these as I haven't driven car fitted with these before.

QUOTE(:3mushy:3 @ Oct 15 2013, 09:52 PM) Hmmm... What is this 'helicopter sound'? I have never encountered this problem (I assume the sound is like the rotor whirring). Actually in my case it is as if you are running over rumble stripes during braking during fast speed. I also have this rotor whirring sound, which is according to SC is due to CVT.

QUOTE(SportyHandling @ Nov 27 2013, 12:35 PM) For 2, it is not the CVT whining sound. It is something else. The "turbine whirring" sound. It is heard when the car is moving slowly to a stop, or at low speeds. Annoying. Is this the sound that you are referring to? You hear this coming from Front LH side? I thought something wrong about the Front LH wheel but SC said it's CVT... I find this really really annoying Anyone noticed the opening inside the Front LH Fender? Isn't the sound coming out of there?

QUOTE(DaBestOne @ Dec 6 2013, 02:48 PM) u can change the rubber.. if it doesn't make any sound..if there's sound, change the CV joint or driveshaft.. the cause of that is either the rubber cover broke or poor workmanship..better repair it b4 u take it for a ride.. Thanks for the reply. Actually, my service center discovered the leakage and replaced the drive shaft. I did not even know about it. I had only complained about the noisy sound which still exists even after the replacement. How to detect the drive shaft leakage myself?

QUOTE(hong3831 @ Feb 5 2014, 01:37 PM) it work but depends on which problem. if rear part got sound, it may due from different issue 1. the gap like mentioned above. 2. a screw below left dash speaker. 3. rear 3rd brake light 4. the worst is suspension this is what i saw previous owner talked about. i myself is the gap, fix it by the screwdriver solution provided here. I also had this issue and similarly solved However, the gap is not the same but the other gap to the right next to it. I did not need screwdriver though because the metal is bit soft. I just used my fingers to widen the gap by pulling it down.
