On Preve CFE, when u're slowing down/braking, there's a sound like those LRT/Monorial. Is that CVT or Engine sounds?

You misunderstood his meaning.

He bought Preve LE and just saying the premium price to pay for being limited edition (+/- BK & leather seat) after the massive discount from Preve CFE which set below ~<RM68k.

Also get the leather seats.

I plan to change the gearknob to Suprima S's leather knob, my Preve LE still use normal Preve gearknob

Where to get it? SC?

Saw/Read about the discussion of fabric vs leather seats few pages back, thinking of changing it to leather too.
Worrying the "bulu bulu" issue.

and Guys, check out the Preve that just arrived on my SA's showroom.

Not sure if you managed to see it, but at the rear of Preve, it's emblem with "Turbo" (same with Suprima) & "Handling By Lotus".

Is it just a sticker that Proton slaps on it? cause mine just written CFE at the back.
"Handling By Lotus" tarak.

Culprit: Bearing issue in the gearbox transmission, changed whole GB to a new 1.

To future Preve CFE owner, VT3+ is again proven included in the latest production line.

My thoughts after drove my car for a week time;

Steering - very stiff/hard when did a full or 90° turn but it feels light when maneuver on straight line. Also, light vibrate when driving above 130km/h.

Turning - I did a 90° right turn with 40km/h and my body leans to the left, quite alot.

Braking - Brake while driving on 90km/h or above, heard a sound from the front, not sure how to describe it.

Acceleration - Jerk below 10km/h or worst, felt engine gonna die off on a uphill jam traffic road.

QC - The infamous kruk kruk sound NOW appears at the rear whenever I goes over a bump. Weird rclxub.gif
Also, whenever I close both my rear doors, there's a "tuk" sound appear at the lower boot.

Do advise me on all these problems, normal or not, so I can bring up this issue on my 1k service. blush.gif

Went for my first service at Top Diversified Sdn Bhd.
Quite amazed with their facility provided (Free WIFI, not TM ZONE) and the technician is freaking friendly, he answered whatever I asked.

I rejected all the recommended extra parts from the service advisor but end up taking Magnetrap sleep.gif , he kept persuade me the advantages of it. Imma a soft guy. tongue.gif
Was hoping for Syntium 1000 or 3000 but they only have Petronas Syntium 800 & Mach 5 plus variety of Mobil Super engine oil, took the Mobil Super 2000 X2 10W-40.

After they done, they called me up and requested me to drive a round to check for any abnormality.
Before handing me the car, they did a all-round QC check and even gave my car a wash. biggrin.gif

IMOO, much better treatment compare to CoSE. Will definitely come back for the next service.

Interested on the underbody seal wub.gif

*
Guess so, it's located at Taiping, Perak, as I'm very afraid of having a bad Proton Service Center here whereas at PJ/KL area, there're tons of SC available to choose from.
This shop really surprised me and came out different from what I imagined. biggrin.gif

Yep, Preve has a clutch connected to the engine flywheel. Then that clutch is connected to the CVT then to the wheels. You have to drive it like a manual. Pull the handbrake, press accelerator, wait until the car wants to forward then *slowly* release the handbrake.
*
QUOTE(mengsuan @ Feb 10 2014, 08:51 PM)
Don't do controlling using throttle at slope too much. You're burning clutch
*
With that said, it's normal the car jerks (terhenjut-henjut) upon releasing brake on stop/go jam road? (below 10km/h)

QUOTE(TitaniumZ @ Feb 14 2014, 10:53 AM)
Just wanna check with you guys
1) During traffic jam start/stop <5km/h, do you step on the accelerator pedal to move or simply let the car move by itself using D and brake when necessary? I find that if I step on the pedal to move the car it jerks a lot.
2) While waiting at up-slope like red light stop, do you keep at D and use foot brake or keep at N and use handbrake? I know when start the best is keep at D and release handbrake slowly while stepping on accelerator pedal like manual car but how about when waiting?
*
Yup, dam headache on those.
1) Whenever in a stop/go traffic jam, I only let it roll first before I pedal in, slow but no jerk. Good but the bad is many cars took advantages of it and cut infront of me. sweat.gif

2) BIG issue for me, my house front porch is a uphill slope, very troublesome if I wanna park inside, 1.6L Turbo feels no power and engine gonna die symptom.
In the end, park outside cry.gif

brows.gif I'm eyeing on this Phantom Body-kit too, especially the spoiler.

Need help from those who had installed BK on their car, can I know what's the roughly height (inches) from the road-surface till the front bumper BK?
My area here have quite alot of problematic speed bumps with unique design.

Thanks mengsuan & terryble for sharing the experience.
Seems like very headache to drive with, more concern the indoor multilevel carpark area sweat.gif

Same scenario here, I think can escape the speed bump but with supreme care.
But then again, when it comes to a carpark building ramp, I do fear that as well, the ° slope coming down + speed-bump rclxub.gif

Much thanks vincent818 for the photos. thumbup.gif
Gave me a very clear idea of it.

Is it available for the exec version?

When you turn of the engine, quickly turns on ur lowbeam light for 2 secs and off it.
The front lowbeam light will on for 30secs.
Not sure does it available on Exec or not, no harm trying icon_rolleyes.gif

QUOTE(budak minyak @ Feb 20 2014, 01:38 PM)
Is it really only 4 speakers? The other day I went to visit Proton showroom, the dealer said the 2014 Preve comes with 6 speakers.

Anyway I'm a fresh grad and just started working. So plan to buy this car as my first car. But still considering whether this car worth to buy or not.

Compare Preve with Suprima, which car do u recommend me to buy if I'm more towards city driving, and maybe once a month or 2 will do the long distance driving back to my hometown.
*
I'm being honest on my side here. (Not all Preve, but from my perspective)

Towards City Drive - Ok, acceptable.
City Drive + Jam - Acceptable if u ok with it.
City Drive + Jam + Uphill - "i wanna cry"
Highway - King of the Road (Only applicable within same segment & price range)
Fresh Grad - surely you don't want spend much time on visiting SC, right?
Pray for a non-lemon unit. Also, there might be some minor issues on and on.

About the speakers, I'm not so sure but there're 2 output area, 1 being round & 1 small rectangular at each side.
Probably that's why the SA counted as 6.
like what Titaniumz said, if you're not an audiophile, sound quality is good.

Other than that, Preve is soo fun to drive and you wouldn't get such awesome specs+gadget out there with
such price tag, not to mention the ass (Boot) Dayum~
