the steps are not meant for newbie users and the process of explanation is long, however check this http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=1562002

Some basic guides smile.gif

Please keep handy DVR IP ADDRESS, DVR PORT and DVR MEDIA PORT and connect LAN cable from DVR to Router, before proceeding smile.gif

thank..i will try it later.

hi..i have follow your step to do.

but i found that my public IP is different with the modem rounter ip address.

i found that the streamyx assign me the ip start with 10.xx.xx.xx instead of dynamic public ip......

is this the reason i cannot access my dvr???

dang! .. u configure NAT section? did u read wat i wrote there? dont disturb NAT section first!

key in your DMZ section first and see at www.canyouseeme.org the DVR port is open or not, if not;

do second one, thats PORT FORWARDING to release DVR port nod.gif

dont disturb NAT section first nod.gif

On the mobile phone or table for example, what would we have to key in to access the DVRs? We need to know the public IP address and port number or just the DYN hostname?

Internal IP and Public IP are two different things ....

You can check your public IP (assigned by your broadband provider) :-

http://www.myipaddress.com/show-my-ip-address/

p/s the IP address will be changed after each time you restart your broadband modem or you log out from the Internet.

yourname.dyndns.org better nod.gif easy remember .. if the router restarts the ip may vary n restricts your logon .. DYNDNS services automatically captures ure ip address and forwards to yourname.dyndns.org

my ip also in router 10.66.202.xxx but whatismyip.com shows 118.101.200.xxx ..it has nothing to do with ure configuration i have thought, what is your login and DVR IP is important?

Aztech DSL605EW uses 192.168.1.1 as router logon IP .. in that case open your DVR menu and set it to IP 192.168.1.100 then have a valid YOURNAME.DYNDNS.ORG name, then key in the 192.168.1.100 into router's DMZ section .. finally save into DVR

check your HTTP port and MEDIA port shown in your DVR (pre-programmed by vendor)told u not to disturb router's public IP section anymore .. thats the final method "IN CASE" you cannot see port release in www.canyouseeme.org nod.gif

send screenshot of DVR of u dont know hw to key in .. because i dunno whats ure dvr type nod.gif

for example see my client using aztech605ew router http://dasshome.dyndns.org (sorry no credentials due to privacy)

i m using streamyx 512kbps package and my ip in router is 10.xx.xx.xx but whatismyip.com shows 118.xxx.xxx.xxx.

i m using the no-ip.com as my ddns and also i found the ip in no-ip also 10.xx.xx.xx instead of 118.xx.xx.xx.

i can access the dvr when i key in the no-ip address and in the LAN network,but i cant access it thru my YES device or other internet network.

Ive read thru the Magtec MT series PDF guide, there seems no mobile port, however re-confirm at DVR first, then use Canyouseeme to double confirm ports SUCCESS as instructed earlier smile.gif

if you can view via remote or using phone then its fine, if remote can and mobile cannot means the media port is still not released smile.gif

There are 2 way of accessing DVR ...

1. If ure in the same connection as DVR sharing u can only access using internal IP - use 192.168.1.100
2. If ure outside of the premis, eg. at Starbucks, Hotels, Singapore or Thailand - use DYNDNS services

u CANNOT use DYNDNS to view the DVR which is based on the same connection, thats the difference between Internal Vieweing and Remote Vieweing

otherwise, i would just recomment u to use DYNDNS, i suppose there are IP confusion within DVR and modem nod.gif

no, its not like that .. TM assigns Private IP and Public IP nowadays, so its better u get DYNDNS to avoid confusion .. the translation concept of DYNDNS is;

DYNDNS --> Public IP --> Private IP --> DVR IP
