A Scarlet Pygmy (Nannophya pygmaea), one of the smallest and cutest dragonflies of the world at less than 2cm!
So lucky to find this "mini-dragonfly" laugh.gif

Did some macros today when there's light rain. But it was near dusk so I have to boost up the ISO. Using built-in flash also. Critiques are welcomed. smile.gif

Awesome photos bro!
Especially #1! In-flight shots are not easy at all yo notworthy.gif notworthy.gif
As for the other photos, let's just say ants are a bit too common, a bit hard to get very special shots haha hmm.gif

argghhh i also wanna have a macro lens.

Buy one buy one brows.gif
A Raynox, as suggested by bro copperwire93 is also a great choice it seems thumbup.gif Much cheaper than any dedicated macro lens/ auto extension tubes~

QUOTE(copperwire93 @ Nov 21 2013, 08:58 PM)
Thanks man. I took many shots, only 6 are okay. tongue.gif

I'm excited to see the weaver ants fixing their nest after heavy downpour. biggrin.gif
Can use Raynox 250 conversion lens like I did, cost like RM300+ I think. But, of course, the quality is not par as dedicated macro lens.
*
1/6 is very good already lo haha rclxms.gif rclxms.gif Sometimes take 10, 10 also blur haha XD

When those ants sting you, also very "exciting" one yo haha brows.gif brows.gif

Hi, not sure which thread to ask. Anyone got experience buying ap sets? Hows the experience. If rosak during warranty will the warranty company play games with u or honor the contract. Secondly, if after warranty isit more expensive to repair than a nikon malaysia unit. In other words does nikon penalize customers juz cos they bought an ap unit.

Where to get best deal on nikon dslr? Pls dont tell me getting original costs only a bit extra. Cos rm 200 more is not abit. Im looking for a d7000 actually, been sitting on it for a month now.
*
Can consider dealing with Yannick: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Yannick-Came...7834827?fref=ts

He can still provide warranty services (from Nikon) even if its AP sets. At least that's what he tells me la hehe XD
Can contact him for more info icon_rolleyes.gif
And yea, a D7000 is a better pick, use the extra money saved for a good lens, or something else icon_rolleyes.gif

Learning abit about Focus Stacking these few days hmm.gif

Since Depth of Field (DOF) is often very shallow in macro shots. The technique basically involves taking multiple exposures focusing on different parts of the subject, then merging them together in post-processing. Can be used not only for macro too ~

Although not really that practical when out in the field, this technique has its uses, especially when produced as scientific material thumbup.gif

So these photos are from labs (referring to the background)?  hmm.gif These insects can stand still ya?
*
Most of the focus stacking shots (especially very upclosed ones) are only suitable for insects that are stunted or dead unfortunately laugh.gif Cause any movement will affect the results T____T
This spider here has been stunted by freezing nod.gif
Took the opportunity to try focus stacking laugh.gif

correction: 2 years with heavy abuse lens with snow, heavy rain like recent days... bag is rain proof but that rain was super heavy till water can go thru the zip (quick access there) and drip on lens... plus i wipe the lens and put under fan only...

but fungus consider small i think...
