eh D800 got hdr? lol... didnt read that part yet...
i only checking unfamiliar button in manual and see the explaination XD
*
Yeap, there is an in-built HDR mode haha, but takes 2 shots only and combined for you... Dynamic range is not as good as 3 shots or more.

Bracketing on the D800 is pretty easy, but I remember that there's a catch to it. If I remembered correctly, the camera will always follow the no. of shots you set under Timer (C6), regardless of how many frames you set it to shoot under BKT; or something like that haha laugh.gif
Long time didn't shoot HDR already T____T

PS: Still, with the crazy dynamic range of the D800, there's no real need to take HDR liao haha laugh.gif Unless if you really want to create those insanely colorful landscape shots. Still no idea how to achieve those rclxub.gif

Note the second photo, sometimes the light and the clouds move too fast, hence using timer is not recommended, you'll be best with a cable remote shutter. Cannot risk even 1 second in this condition with the use of timer.

Sorry bad composition still. shakehead.gif

ideally if u want a future proof lens, the 50mm will be ok since its FX.
the 35mm and 40mm both are of cos DX, and between those 2, imo the 40mm wins hands down.
for portraits etc, 50mm also more preferable over 35mm.
and if u want wider for group shots, just use kit lens tongue.gif

btw, speaking of 50mm on aps-c...this guy is a celebrity already...all self-portraits.

I don't have much luck with ET. I'm noob haha! I can't get things in focus even if I'm really close.

However without ET and my trusty 35mm 1.8G DX with the help of Raynox 250. I got these.

Hi all Nikon Bro!

My D80 refuse to work now. I try remove batt and reset it . On the top LCD only show "ERR". Anyone encounter this before? What seem to be the problem?
Dont know if worth it if send it to service center to repair. or get new D7100 or D600?
*
I had errors showing "ERR" for my D90 during its first 2 weeks as well. Sent to Nikon Service Centre PJ and they managed to fix it within a day, some misalignment with the sensor or something. Though I am not sure whether yours is the same issue as mine.
Still, if your D80 is very old already, can always consider to upgrade brows.gif

Not just patience lo, courage is very important, which I don't have cry.gif cry.gif

QUOTE(gunzerdude @ Nov 16 2013, 10:52 PM)
Both also need, but taking macro at extreme magnifications is very frustrating, especially when you're in a weird position and there's constant breezes.

Yo bro, you forgot one extremely important thing- mosquitoessssss!!!
There are the real test to a macro photographer (or landscape shooter) miahahaha XD

Hate them with all my heart, farking opportunists while people are concentrating haha tongue.gif

I scare if i send to service center its need few hundred to repair. this D80 now only worth around RM800.00
that why upgrade cross my mind cry.gif
*
Can always ask for price quotes first before depositing right? hmm.gif

Still, the choice is yours nod.gif
Nowadays a ~Rm1.5k DSLR is equivalent, if not better than the D80 in many aspects already I suppose hmm.gif

Still, I really love the dynamic range of the D80. Its the 1st DSLR that made me fell in love with photography anyway rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

Last two.
Not a beautiful scene but I finally get that starry sun. So, I just jumped and do the shoot. Sun's ray gets dispersed afterwards. lol! laugh.gif

Nothing so spectacular lah.
My method is amateur one. f/22, ISO 100, 2 secs timer for 3 exposures, then get into photomatix, combine them and develop. Anyone will not have any trouble to do this. unsure.gif

The hardest part is finding that beautiful scenic places and finding the composition... especially when it is so hard to reach and you don't want to look weird because everyone is watching. rclxub.gif
*
Agreed laugh.gif
Getting the composition right will require a lot of effort nod.gif
Same goes to macro haha, I don't really like it when I attract a lot of attention too sweat.gif I guess photographing a wall at close range ain't exactly normal haha XD

Still, as long as you love what you are doing, that's good enough~ Don't really need to care about what others think of you. However, its good to turn around a few times to make sure there are no robbers LOL

Funding to get ND1000, Cokin set cannot hold too much light even at this dark monsoon.

Love the 1st shot yo~
I think it will be better if you shoot lower, and also make those footprints larger and deeper thumbup.gif Of course, better save this idea for when the weather is much better brows.gif

Just curious, how much does ND filters costs anyways, I know nuts about them lol sweat.gif

This is the cheapest I can find for now, ND1000 they say can do 10 stops even in midday.
Cokin and Tianya are a big no-no for long exposure I advise you. doh.gif

I used the tripod as lowest as possible. Is there any tripod that can go lower than that?
*
Dafuq? I have always thought ND filters are square shaped one LOL doh.gif doh.gif
Wah, cheapest also RM200 T___T

Yeah, some tripods can spread really low haha, but those are expensive. There are some that can be used "upside down", with the camera attached on the bottom tongue.gif
