i am in my late 40's already .. now trying to learn to play with gadget so to impress my kids at home la .. haha

by the way, i had visited the Samsung SC in Centro Klang, i must say that they are hopeless, told me that yesterday alone, there were close to 50 ppls visited them to complain about not able to use the pen properly for sms and email, so his answer is to wait for the next software update, which could be a month to 6 month.

he also said .. i should stick to my BB, android phones and samsung have many problems with their software bugs ..

so i am hoping to find some help here lor.

I don't think you're the only person in your age group reading this forum and playing with androids. wink.gif My son had just done his UPSR.

Anyway, the S Pen is really useful. But they have problem with Sumsung keyboard at the moment. If you want a quick solution, you may consider downloading Go Keyboard from google play.

Where did you get the black S View case?

Been looking high and low for it.

Samsung Paradigm Mall. Grab it fast because there is no new stock for black SView. The only one they have now is what I had just returned to them. LOL.

Hello,

Just to clarify, the SGP casing are not out yet. It will be released soon and we estimate to receive it latest by the 15th. If there are SGP casing being sold in shops right now, it most probably is a fake unit smile.gif

hi all .. i am a new user, infact, just got my note 3 last night and i am already regretting it like hell for getting this note 3.

first of all, i had just migrate from BB 9900 to note 3, the size is not easy to handle and to make thing worst .. i have operating the note 3 issue .. not knowing how to and my SPen is not working properly in email, sms ..

how to check or do the antutu?

sorry .. i am very frustrated now ..

Could anyone suggest how and where to learn how to operate this fatblet?
*
BB9900 to Note 3 is a big move. Because..
1 - you moving from a keyboard to touch screen. You move to any touchscreen keyboard, you'll face the problem.
2 - you moving from a one-hand to a big phablet. One hand is not easy. But samsung has one-hand operation settings that you can use to help you do one-hand operations.
3 - you moving from an email-focused phone via BIS/BES to all-in smartphones..

Reading manual probably not gonna help much. But at the end of the day, you just need to get used to it....

agreed, since the manual only helps out with things you don't know, it's not gonna help you get used to it. what you need right now is experience more than anything mr. funnyman.

so your main problem now is the spen that once you right it won't convert the written words to normal text right?
then you install this
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...bile.v3_2_store
it is the same thing

but you'l need to switch keyboard if you want to type normally by dragging down the top notification bar and switching to samsung keyboard or other keyboards.

btw here many uncles and may i suggest you instead ask your children to teach you? they will be more interested if they see you joining the smartphone trend and maybe help you to familiarize with it.

QUOTE(shockk @ Oct 1 2013, 06:36 PM)
Yeah. Really funny right? I regret of not testing it on the spot and brought it home, then could not work. After going back to the Samsung centre, then they mentioned currently it can only work when they are both the same colours.

1 or 2 users in xda and hardwarezone forums also had same issues but they didn't know the reason as well. Only found out today when I tested at the Samsung centre.

Yes, the black cover I was using works perfectly with a black a note III.

By right it is not supposed to happen in the first place, else they should have stated it on their box and website itself.

But I guess it's just a firmware issue and let's hope Samsung will fix it soon.

Other colours besides black and white should have no issues as they are meant for both phone colours? LOL. But it is indeed very WEIRD if Samsung really thinks that black Note 3 will only use black SView covers and vice versa...

This shouldn't be the case. It should just be a chip that says "I'm an S-View cover" and the Note 3 should just switch on whatever S-View functions there are. Color should have nothing to do with it.

This leads me to think that it's an NFC chip in the S-View cover.... hmm.gif hmm.gif

In which case, IF anyone gets a 3rd party battery without NFC, their S-View cover may not work.

Somehow my guess is the Sview cover got a 5 gold pins that connect to the back of your device (5 gold slots)
Previously I saw someone posted his cover (non wireless charging type) but with 5 gold pins. He thought those are for wireless charging.
Normal backplate don't have any pin at all.

Maybe 3 pins are designed for wireless charging while 2 pins are for sview cover authentication.
But anyway, this is kinda lame.

There's a microchip at the SView cover (the part where you cover the back of the phone, replacing your original Note III back cover) which has two metal connectors. These two same connectors make contact with another two perfectly aligned contacts on the Note III internally, the area next to the battery. If they have this, not sure if they still need NFC since the phone itself can already read the SView cover's data through these physical connectors.

I'll try to post up a photo later so that everyone knows clearly what I'm referring to.

Hey everyone and TS joytest

Wanna share my experience and some info with the original SView cover for the Note III.

I tested my white Note III with a black SView cover and the auto lock/unlock works including the SView feature but ONLY limited to when you are receiving calls. Everything else does NOT work unfortunately - like when u close the cover, the display on the SView window is blank.

Now after changing to a white SView cover instead, every SView function works perfectly.

So if u have a black or white Note III, u should get the same coloured SView the same as your Note III. As the other SView cover colours are not out yet besides black and white, I'm hoping that Samsung fixes this issue in a newer firmware.

Happy shopping for your SView cover ! biggrin.gif

lol... got such a bug? will test it out later... tongue.gif

Copper laaa....

Pins and Contacts, not slots tongue.gif

IF it comes with Wireless charging, then 189 is a good price. The receiving coil is already around RM50 from China manufacturers.
