I just saw the commercial for the Panasonic FX-01 camera. I really like the fact it has wide angle lens. Aside from the wide-angle feature, is the camera really worth buying?

I am not a photo techie but I need a new camera cause my film camera broke (bought in 1998) So now I want to go digital.

Yup, if you're looking for compact camera's take a look at Canon,Panasonic,Olympus and Nikon..... FX-01 is a nice cam but I would have suggested TZ-1 instead....

yeah dude, u realy gotta kno what features are u longing for... personally, I waited about 4 years for a high capable optical zoom in a P&S camera.. Now, got myself a Panasonic TZ1, wif 10x optical zoom. I wud suggest the Ixus/Ixy series if u wanna snap2 lyk no one cares... It's a good starter camera IMHO.

High MP doesn't mean it is the best. You need to take into account of some other features like IS, high optical zoom and etc

MP decides how big the picture u can take. higher the MP the larger your picture is possible.

the lense and software decide how good the capture is

What is the photo size you want to print ? People normally go for 4R which i think 3 or 4MP will be good enough.

till now, I still wonder, watz the point of having a digicam if you are going to print it later on? ahhahahaa. to me, they will all be digital contents... imho, for normal users, 4megapix is enuff...

btw, when i was on Fujifilm MX2700, one of the fujifilm ppl said dat our analog camera is equivalent to 8Megapix digital camera... if u plan to shoot on a football match, get the 8megapix then.. ahahahha.
