okay, but here's my story.

graduated in chemical engineering.

first job, I got into biotech company but then the project delayed until its closed down - so its like no experience at all

2nd job, after searching a lot of engineering jobs, then proceed to finding management jobs randomly, i got into management trainee in insurance cmpany

I just dont want to be unemployed for a long time like before my first job.
So right now, I would really like to try again in engineering companies as I wanted to be in it.

@sylar2000 TQ for your input smile.gif

1.It's hard to find a job in chemical industries. - aka chemical engineering
2. Most of big companies prefer candidates with experience.
3. start from the bottom because u don't have anything to sell
4.CGPA doesn't reflect anything

My CGPA = 2.87, but im Professional Engineer (Ir) and competent engineer 33kv.

Wah so fast you get Jurutera Kompetent 33kV.. work in OnG somemore, so nicee... i thought must have 5 years experience wan? Just get ah? Or did you work for TNB first to get it?

I have been working for 7 years la bro, i got my Ir when i was 27, you can take 500kv directly if you deal with transmission line/generator transformer, 11kv and 33kv not much different, almost same. i wanted to work with TNB, but they prefer to hire fresh graduate...

1) First point right! Unfortunately the chemical engineering i learnt is very general to be honest. just theory etc.. not specific into job skills
2) Big companies, yeah, they wouldnt look at me at all. been to Petronas interview, got the reply the next day sad.gif still disappointed
3) I want to start from bottom but even smaller companies had doubt with me, i really dont care to do hardcore works lol
4) truee.. but im really clueless on what is wrong
Mind sharing your success stories? smile.gif notworthy.gif  tongue.gif

Petronas - They wont hire fresh graduate unless u have at least 5 years experience.
Most of company prefer man rather than woman to work in engineering field - major factor, woman cant think outside the box even they have good credit in the paper.
U can start as project engineer, station in petrochemical plant with sub-contractor, i hv seen many fresh graduate start their career as project engineer,
Im not consider successful, because i wasted my youth!

not true about Petronas.

about 7 ppl from my batch of 30 people got into petronas. half of them are woman  sweat.gif . mostly in Kerteh la. one in kedah . none in klcc ( I would want too haha) tongue.gif    nod.gif

wasted your youth? how?  hmm.gif

thats consider lucky, or else they studied under Petronas scholarship or technician level. Petronas is semi-gov company, their hiring process not based on gender and the process of recruitment is handled by HR , its different from private where the process of recruitment is under direct supervisor.
