Yesterday The Star article telling that W4 can install games and apps from google play store! Is it true?

Can install from W4 to my Android devices. Haha...what kind of info does the Star tech guy know...I wonder.

Starts today but I wonder if internal people will grab it before it starts. Only 10 units at Digital Mall.

there's a display power saving under what you mentioned. Interesting.. but I have a theory that the flickering only occurs at low brightness, so let me try out some more first.

Thanks for the advise. I couldn't find setting to turn off panel auto refresh though, can teach where to look for that. i have managed to turn off monitor energy saving though, now testing it.

While there are games which the Acer W4 can run smooth as cream.. Halo.... well, let's just say we've been lied to in the videos.

Back to the Miracast thing.. it's farked up.. sometimes it seems to work great, sometimes not so great. I have a theory now that if I connect to the same AP which the dongle is connected to, I get better results, compared to leaving the dongle with a non internet connection and then connecting to it as p2p

did any of you guys encounter when u press the power button to off the screen and u left it for quite some time and when you want to turn on again it can't wake up? i need to hold the power button for quite some time to on the w4 again...

Automatic turn off the onboard speaker? If it's the same as mine I guess you can just turn off the program which talks to the dongle, when it's in Miracast mode you done need it on already.

Some additional testing has basically told me that mine is just WEIRD... sometimes it's great.. sometimes not so great... sometimes it'll die because it's trying to mirror 1080P, sometimes it works fantastically with very little lag.

Sometimes it'll die by just trying to refresh a notepad opened on the screen

I think the minor lag is normal as I've seen similar lags experienced by others on youtube with other WIDI tablet/nb.
You successfully connected miracast through Intel app setting?

Just want to ask is yr miracast setup connection direct from tablet to dongle without need of a router?  I'm hopping that it is better this way so that i can plug dongle to my client's TV display for presentation. If need to go through router network for smooth playback then its pretty useless since I wont be able to login clients network. I'm still waiting for my dongle to arrive & keeping my fingers crossed...

hi, I am interested in getting the acer w4. there is one thing i would appreciate feedbacks from w4 owners.

what i like about my previous windows pocket pc, and my current androids, ipad is that they are able to do instant on and instant sleep (not much battery drain while sleep.)

But of course, these devices are limited to what one can do when compared to a full windows 8 or ubuntu tablets.

But then again, tablets with full windows os in the past take long time to boot up and load all the drivers, processes, services. After pressing the power on button, you have to wait and wait until the device becomes usable.

Of course, the alternative is to use hibernate. So, my question is can bay trail solve this problem because I read that the processor handles power management very efficiently and almost as good as how arm processors handles power management. Thanks

I just found out something interesting about this casing .... maybe got to do with the embedded magnet in the casing.

When you close the casing the W4 automatically go to sleep mode & when you flip open the casing it auto-ON again! Nice feature.
