Why do so many people here goes for Acer Iconia w4 instead of Asus Transformer T100? blink.gif anyone can tell me your personal reason biggrin.gif was deciding between these two models
*
W4 vs T100

1. W4 is lighter due to 8" vs T100 10"
2. T100 dock is actually heavy due to the internal HDD which I dont need
3. Price wise W4 only RM959 with 3 years warranty (Bought in PC FAIR offer RM899 + RM60 3 years AEW)

I think T100 have higher resolution of 1366x768 but due to it being 10", the PPI is at a lowly 155. If Im not mistaken, W4 have 18x PPI and even at that level, already find it a bit hard to read without zooming. At 155, I dont think I can bare it considering I have Nexus 10 and iPad4.

Blame Asus Malaysia for thier crappy marketing plan. Why the hell they bring only 32GB. If they offer 64GB (Same price without the 500GB dock), I would choose Asus. Too bad.
seems like leaving us only W4 that got the right size & specs.

Owner of W4, would like to ask you all, say if only use Bluetooth mouse, is it sufficient? Typing can only when need -on screen. Right?

Screen not in on, of course cant touch screen the keyboard.

Unless you connect a external keyboard and monitor, then tablet's screen can off............you can continue use it

Well, if you can live with the OSK (on-screen keyboard), then might as well download the OSM (on-screen mouse) that was posted by one of the forumer.

Personally I do not have problem with typing, but do find some difficulty when using OSK with Autocad 2010. Therefore I just proceed to buy Rapoo E6700 bluetooth keyboard with touchpad from Taobao just now. Will wait for the status update and product arrival then may make a short review on it.

mainly 64gb, and acer got front and back camera, asus only 1 camera, if there is still other reasons need to let the actual user to point it out.

oh, and asus warranty suck.

asus advantage is the keyboard and the 500gb hdd in it.

Cable problem?

Do you noticed how much fatter the original cable was vs those bundled with smartphone or ipad? And it finished charging quite quickly too.

The original charger is rated at 5V 3.5A, I clocked it at 1.8A using the amp meter. The original adapter is bad ass! tongue.gif

did you try both the windows button as well as the power button? Seems to me the Win button goes to 'sleep' sometimes.

there's another possible reason, it seems that on connected stand by, automatic updates have a chance of hanging the system. At least that's what happened with my W510, so had to turn auto install updates off and manually update when it tells you to.

anyway, haven't seen it like what you mentioned. Since I'm playing with the dell right mow, my Acer will be dormant for the whole day, will see what happens when I try to turn it on tonight then.

Since you mention about Update, perhaps its the cause.. because when I saw the screen 1st time after refuse to run, has this installing update screen with running circle, then saw the login page after that..

Let me do what you suggested n see if the automatic update really is the culprit.

Only encounter it once when I unbox and it wont boot up at all. Connect the charger then can boot up.

Another encounter is when it reboot or wake up and didnt have internet connection. You noticed the screen is on through the backlight leakage, but nothingi is displayed. Put it to sleep using power button and wake it up again solved it most of the time.
