is it? the gps give me exactly my location, and windows 8 3rd party sensor apps give me Decimal degrees latitude and longitude, and it changes when i move to different area of the same city with few KM distance apart, geo location can only give u the city, if that database info is accurate.

Actually, this tablet does not have GPS hardware built-in. Why the Sensors app could provide your location information is because Windows Geo Location API is able to resolve your tablet's public IP address.

More information can read here : http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/wi...eolocation.aspx

Google, Apple also provide the same functions. You may use your laptop (which obviously does not have GPS device) and Chrome browser to determine your location on Google Maps.

Anyway, it is a good device and I am happy to use it daily. The con of Win 8 tablet is it will go into deep sleep when you want to listen to radio. Not all metro apps support playing while device enters deep sleep.

Yeah, I know that but the decimal points are just the location of building you are in.

The best way to know whether it has GPS device, just put it in car while Sensor apps is running. Then try travel a few km and see Sensor returns you the right location?

It does not work for me though.

Yeah, I agree with Dothan... it has location API to help determine location with support of WiFi or data.

Toshiba Encore boldly said it has GPS. I think Iconia W4 should work like the same... not.

i am testing acer iconia w4 820 today with nokia HERE Maps windows 8 apps, using this becoz it can /Download maps to your tablet and use them for free when abroad or whenever there is no available Wi-Fi or data connection/, travel few KM within same city, the maps show correct gps postion from start to finish and the same while returning. and i am not connected to any wifi or 3g connection while doing that.

Will show you the photo later.

I didn't use the tablet as much lately, but the screen got yellow tint and pixel burn.

from my usage, i can see that touch screen and the ips led screen at all 4 corner of the screen can damage if you touch harder abit, due to this is economic product and not having something like corning gorilla glass.
