I find many Booker Prize winning books, especially Mantel ones, really hard to read. I guess the taste is too acquired for me.
Don't feel disappointed that you're not enjoying it, you're not alone. |

Update:
I've stopped reading this book. Read only about 25%. Gave up. Too boring. Style of writing not suitable for me. |

Oh, too bad you weren't able to get into Wolf Hall. But yeah, seeing as it took you almost six months to cover only 25%…haha. I read it back in 2010 and enjoyed it quite a bit. Haven't got around to the second one yet (Bring Up The Bodies), but it's on my To Be Read list. Yes, it took me a while to get used to the author's style: Who the heck is "he"?
In the past, for unknown reasons, I'd force myself to finish a book no matter how boring I found it. Now, if the first 150 pages don't catch my interest, I move on to the next book. Reading should be fun. |
