walcott haters might have a case now with serge gnabry already matching theo's goal tally for the season with just 3 games. there's a reason why mesut tipped gnabry and eisfeld for greatness, man i cant wait till gnabry gets more confidence

he didnt score/assist, but that 50/50 tackle yesterday was what made the 2nd goal possible. i for one am really undecided as to who should start a game if everyone is fit. ozil and ramsey picks themselves out, and flamini has been fantastic in breaking down opposition moves. i imagine santi/poldi would reclaim the LW position too. f me, that depth in attack is sweeeet

players that dont defend usually will get flak. there's word that the reason mourinho doesnt start mata is that, like ozil, he does not defend. but the instant he was subbed into the game you see chelsea starting to click.

ozil is a great playmaker, but there's a reason why fans like rosicky so much. he plays a high pressing game, chases people down even in their own half. fans like seeing this. which makes the free signing of flamini look even better now that we know ozil does not press. there's also an issue with his stamina, at his time in madrid he rarely finishes a game, always getting subbed out around the 80th minute. maybe it's mourinho's way of handling his stamina problems and lack of defensive contributions.

but hey, the guy is not made of gold, he has his flaws. we havent seen the best of mesut ozil in arsenal

man to watch is obviously lorenzo insigne... damn i'm becoming a fan of this guy. higu's getting on form too but i think bosc will be able to handle him, with flam's help

does anyone still think we need to add another striker, or would it suffice to play theo or poldi in ST when giroud is out? i think with the brand of football we play, it's hard for a new ST to come in and work the moves we do the way giroud has learned after a year. plus i dont see any top top qualitee striker available in the market

nah, rosicky is versatile enough to be playing on the left. jack and ozil kind of mirrors santi and rosicky, so if wilshere is out and rosicky plays we'll see ozil and rosicky interchanging throughout the match

what is pires doing currently? is he a free agent or retired? lives in london or flew from france to meet up with old friends and see the new guy?

played fifa against napoli with the team most likely to start, it is damn close. napoli used to be easy target for arsenal since they play only 3 defender, but with the new formation it is damn hard to get even a shot in

i dont mind if higu and lorenzo dont start

just watched the replay of the game, DAMN that first half was magnificent. at first glance i thought flamini scored the first goal, but it didnt make sense because it was a left foot finish and it was too good, flamini's not known for his finishing. then the camera showed ozil and i was ecstatic. first goal for mesut!

some of the things i took from the game: giroud's hold up play is fkin amazing. he wins almost all aerial battles, puts the ball down and plays the right ball. he gets it right with his flicks, and his upper body strength allows him to keep the ball under pressure, even while running ex: his run at right wing to - almost - assist tomas in early 2nd half. this guy is gold.

mesut ozil is not the best signing in the summer, he's actually tied with mathieu flamini. actually flamini might be the best signing since he's free. i think he is now in the first team ahead of arteta when everyone's fit. i like how he allows other players to take the limelight while he silently does his job bossing the midfield. i was afraid he wont be physically fit enough to be featuring consistently, but he's proved me wrong. flamini is the player we've been missing since we sold... flamini.

and finally a clean sheet! napoli didnt turn up, i was expecting lorenzo insigne to at least work szc, but we didnt look like conceding all night. not to mention koscielny back to being bosscielny, this guy loves the Champions League games, always seems to give his best in it!
