With a 1k price drop. Not bad. Better do it quick before they decide to axe the discount for once and for all.
*
I say dont worry lor.

Previously discount upto 4K leh... now 1.5K plus almost 2K reduction, still below 4K.

got it.. thanks.

one more thing. i'm on v spec, if i wanna turn on the radio only without starting the car, how should i do it other than push start -> put gear to N -> push stop.
thanks.

just got my car few days back, many things not sure yet.
*
Maybe you can try this.

Normally you have to step on the brake to start. Dont depress the brake pedal, then push start. Should on the electrical items.

Then why don't you do it back then?

I don't think dealership won't want to cut into their margin to give you anymore discounts unless they are desperate.
*
Well, like I said previously, Malaysian are generally very interested whenever we heard rate reduction bla bla bla, so we end up wait and see what sort of price reduction that we will finally get. Sadly though in the end, its just a blardy show.

I want to buy a car, but Im not desperate. People will cut back their spending for sure. There will be a point where they would reduce to sell more.

QUOTE(Eterman @ Sep 14 2015, 09:13 PM)
does anyone feel their jazz is quite lethargic at low rpm ?

i've ge8 for 1 year++ , noticed that from 0-2k rpm, i felt it is kinda "dying", gota pedal more to get decent acceleration(affect FC). i think it maybe the engine is as such or the auto transmission is upshifting way too fast. Noticed the differences after i drove my father's 8 years old vios.
*
I don't think so. I used to drive Vios and my moms City. Yeah, you feel the jolt when you accelerate with Vios because it's a conventional gearbox while City is really smooth like it's not going, with its CVT gearbox (older city with dual clutch instead of TC). It takes sometime to get used to CVT because the numbers of gears is crazy high and sometimes you do have to floor a bit more to get it kick down 2 gears because the ratio is so close between some of them.

Previous city and jazz has convrntional gearbox, which is what i used for comparison.

And huh?! Older city has dual clutch?
*
My bad, did I mix up something? I thought yours is a cvt.

Yeah, my moms city is the last one before they switch back to conventional gearbox. That version is a cvt with dual clutch. The cvt Honda use with the new city n jazz is with torque converter.

Wow Honda is really getting desperate, sales must be bad. I got RM5.5k discount with Kah back in June, not including my NCD. OTR for the Jazz V was RM80k after discount + NCD.
*
Honda is reading the economic situation perfectly. You can find their sales figures on Paultan website.

Instead they are outperforming Toyota by giving discounts early on. They have overtaken Toyota passenger vehicle sales and keep rising where most faltered. I think its a win win situation for both customers and Honda.

As i say,  feel is a very subjective thing.

I feel it is ok but got friends will say maciam sampan. What can i do.

To this people,  feel is confidence. Haha
*
Jazz with its stiffen suspension (compared to Vios) definitely gave a more reassuring feeling when driving fast. However no matter how much you stiffen the suspension, once you tried higher segment, there is no way to get rid of the sampan feeling at high speed. Usually the one holding the steering cant feel a thing because his/her body coordinate and accept those body roll because he/she anticipate it already.

I think you misunderstood. I'm not doubting you. I'm referring to those that you mention still feel like sampan.

I do not deny that i reply for the sake of replying. Call me syiok sendiri for all you want.

As you noticed. I used the term "feel". As in the car is floating like sampan even when travelling on a perfectly straight road.

I did not mention how it performs in directional changes. To most if not many people. Heavier cars seems to feel like it is sturdier,  hence a more stable car.

But in the real world we all know static weight work against the car as it needs a beefier engine to move the weight,  more contact patch to maintain grip,  etc, etc...

Sooo..... What motor racing did was not to make cars heavier but to have downforce help push the car down on the ground hence giving it more grip than just the car itself could provide mechanically.

The contact patch is as always very important. But,  unless you are chucking the cars into turns and stuff. I don't really think it cures sampan feeling problems. In fact,  wider rims and tires at the end of the day still kacau the cars roll center if my google tak ada rosak.

So,  technically. I did not ever for once claimed that wider tires do jack shit. I just say it doesn't seem to cure the sampan,  wobbly, wiggly feel of the car.
*
Tires do play a role in term of the feel. I think while the width play a less important role, the sidewall design and tires height do make a significant difference. Usually comfort tires has slightly rounded sidewall which help cushion some of the impact while performance tires has stiffer straight sidewall which give a better feedback on the road condition.

Initially I was interested in Jazz too but figured I needed to spent extra to stabilize it. I went with the Rio which came with 17 inch performance tires instead. It doesn't have the fc of jazz but the tradeoff is worth it for my preference.

I am not that sure if wider or lower profile or higher profile helps.  But conti,  are conti's. They have several things on their end most japanese manufacturers especially the smaller cars usually lack. Damper setup for one i would think is already a huge difference
I mean rio having 17" can't be the deciding factor right?  Aftermaket 17" is like what? An rm3k spend at most after trade in?

Rio is better equipped would be undeniable but just because of 17" is a bit bonkers.
*
Unfortunately tires would be my no1 priority. Regardless of the electronics that claimed to save you in crazy situation, it's meaningless when you had a sub par tires that doesn't help at all.

Of course there were other factors, like pricing, free services, and equipments, but I still had my priorities on the 4 pieces of black stuffs that keep me on the road.

honestly, even a Proton Persona is more stable than these two as the multilink suspension is better than torsion beam.
lowered spring/sports abs/right tires profile help too.
*
I cant really comment since I never drove it before.

But I would not consider a Proton for the rest of my life. Their after sales is really bad.

Contact patch is of course the priority as any safety systems is only as good as the grip the tire provides.

But,  better tires can always be bought la.

Not for the stock rim size though. I only want to pay for car installments and nothing else.

I dont understand. What do you mean Jazz needed to spent extra to stabilize it? What a diff between Rio? Jazz also can fit 17 inch performance tires.

The stock tires on Rio versus stock tires on Jazz.

No la. Silicon last time used to be lifetime warranty. That is what makes it interesting.

For our wipers, it seats like half the year bathing in sun. What con also is useless one.

You can always get refill ma. What do you mean DIY and get some wipers that are about RM9 each? Just buy whatever within your means la.
*
You sure? Are you referring to those RM200 per blade PIAA brand?

I bought a few pairs before. SWV 5 years, Duraedge cheap version 2 (or 3) years warranty. Others only verbally said will last but no black and white warranty card.

my jazz gk bought less than than a months water leak thru side foot and 4 door affected . apparently i got a leaky jazz . all my carpet wet . anyone having this issue?
*
All cars are like that. Water that went through the gap between the window and the door will be expelled at the bottom of the door. Most of the time it wont reach interior. I think you need to go back SC and ask them check the door water proofing. Maybe it was not done properly. Moreover you can also request to speak to their manager and ask to change the carpet. Dont be afraid to raise your voice.

When I encounter leak at my boot area for my vios last time, UMW changed everything. Rubber lining, carpet, panel that were soaked etc. They didnt fix the slight rust though.

Hi all Jazz owners, may I know what are the reasons you choose honda jazz instead of city? I am planning to get a new jazz/city, but still cant decide between these 2 cars.. Jazz seems to be a bit budget friendly.. Can the owners kindly share your review/opinion about Honda Jazz?? Thanks in advance..
*
Hatchback vs sedan (although it's more towards being a utility one). If you never had a hatchback, you'll want one. The previous version rear leg room is pretty bad. This new one is good, very good. I think it's a bit taller than city and feel roomier inside.

However I think City is slightly better in certain aspects. The door closing feels more solid. I still drove my mom old city with ultra seat and it is very solid. No creaks etc but it's not the most comfortable seat I ever had. It's just useful if you really had any use for it. The rear 5th door will allow easy access and ability to put things not possible in a sedan like flower pot or slightly oversized pet cage.
