QUOTE(Rei7 @ Feb 9 2014, 01:27 AM) Sounds great mate. I think it's about time I change my router. I always change mine every year. what is your budget for the router ?Mine is probably about to die lol. Thanks for the recommendation because I just change mine to the Asus RT-n14UHP, a mid-range router with pretty good performance. https://www.asus.com/Networking/RTN14UHP/ |

@sHawTY,
I search the whole of lowyat and digital mall for RT-N16, many reseller told me is a discontinue model. I guess the only way is to buy online oversea or at the garage sales where there are some left over stock. have to agree with you that the RT-N14UP lack of No Gigabit Ethernet, other then this feature, is pretty on par with N-16. I brought mine at All IT for $259, other reseller like viewnet, C-zone and sri comp is selling around $279 - $289 |

QUOTE(jagjag @ Feb 10 2014, 09:44 AM) Hi wengjoe, I would rate it 8/10 due to the 3 9dBi antennas which can cover my whole 2 1/2 story house.So how is the performance of your new ASUS router...i am using the TM L7 router currently for my Unifi ( VIP5) and the coverage is very weak. Basically it only cover the living and dining room of my double storey hse. Looking for some option to increase it to the whole hse. No heavy downloading but just normal surfing. Seem like this ASUS router is getting good review...i am bit noob in this networking and IT things. Plan to give this a try...but at least get more good feedback b4 throw my 250 away. Or any sifu get give me a little more guide. The set up is even easier as it took me less then a min to get online. The other setting you have to play with it in order to suit your need like QOS setting, wireless mode and etc So far is a good decision to replace the crappy d-link router, $250 is a well spend money on a mid range router. I upgraded my package from VIP 5 to VIP 10 through the phone.
the guy say it will be reflected in the system within 24 hours, the network guy call up saying the server side already set to 10Mbps. but I did testing and downloading, speed still showing my old package speed. Must the unifi guy came to my house to do some configuration ? |

QUOTE(zuhaili87 @ Mar 9 2014, 05:05 PM) Ahh i see. Traffic manager? Downloader? before the upgrade, I set in my Asus router that my current speed is 5Mbps.I just hope TM dont implement quota just yet. Haha. so I can set different rules for the traffic manager, I totally forgot about it until the unifi tech guy come to my house to check the line. after they browse though the router page, they set it back to 10Mbps and voila, my download straight jump to 10Mbps |

QUOTE(vinod1992 @ Mar 10 2014, 12:25 PM) QUOTE(yiporan @ Mar 10 2014, 05:43 PM) it was my mistake actually because I set 5Mbps at the traffic manager on my Asus RT-N14UHP due to my previous package was VIP 5.issue solve once I made the changes back to 10Mbps, the router is capping my speed based on the rules that I set. |
