Hey guys,  I am wondering this question.  I am staying in condo now with no fiber optic cable in it. Will I able to use unifi in the future?

As I have a friend who stayed in an old condo but he got unifi. I asked him whether TM replaced the copper cable to fiber optic and he told me no.  They fixed something on the TM box. Is that true? With no fiber optic,  will we able to use unifi by using copper wire?
*
Unifi can be deployed via telephone copper wire through VDSL2.

There is no need or a must for fiber (FTTH) for highrise.
VDSL2 is more cost effective and easier to install.

Telco just need to pull fibre to the MDF room at the ground floor of highrise, then already can serve the whole building.

Anyone using draytek router ?

The bandwidth limit by IP address is quite impressive from the picture lol

Possible to do ARP binding and then limit the speed for that ip group?

yes it is possible via VDSL
Unifi uses 2 technologies which is FTTH(Fibre to the home) & VDSL
most high rises building will use VDSL
Fibre from TM exchange will terminate at your bulding MDF/telephone room & from MDF room will run thru copper wire to your home

Last time initial launch UniFi got state offer ETTH.

Why they decide abandon this tech?

Hi guys,

I just got my unifi earlier this month.. was using a streamyx 2mb line before this...

Anyone is using the new modem that they provide? the TRG212M Residential gateway...

Apparently the stupid DNS setting cannot be done in router and it always gets f**ked up.. my desktops are fine as I am using google DNS.. but for my mobile and tablets I cant really set it in system and it takes the default DNS that is given by the router..

if any of you guys are using the same router is there any administrative access to it to unlock more configuration?

Thanks in advance..

Hi All,

My Unifi just got cut yesterday since I forgot to pay for it. So I paid for it earlier this morning. When will they reconnect it again actually?do I have to call them to notify them that I've paid for it?

Not really. It's just that when I arrived home from work yesterday, I realized that there is no internet. I pickup up the internet phone and tried to dial my number. But there is an IVR message saying something along this line "Your line has been barred or out of service".

If pay using M2U, after paying you can call them up and tell them to check whether payment is received. if yes, they can unbar your line right away. But if use other online banking need wait 2-3 days. If you pay in counter, just call them and tell them

Weird thing happened to my Motorola C401A DECT phone.

Can make call but CANNOT receive call.

When I dial my DECT phone using my mobile phone, I can hear 'beep beep' ringtone via my mobile phone but nothing happens to the DECT phone. Just idling.

I went thru the dect phone user manual to troubleshoot, reset the phone but to no avail.

Anyone encountered similar problem?
