Remote control won't able to subscribe without keying password, if not mistaken.

Hi wengjoe,
So how is the performance of your new ASUS router...i am using the TM L7 router currently for my Unifi ( VIP5) and the coverage is very weak. Basically it only cover the living and dining room of my double storey hse. Looking for some option to increase it to the whole hse. No heavy downloading but just normal surfing. Seem like this ASUS router is getting good review...i am bit noob in this networking and IT things. Plan to give this a try...but at least get more good feedback b4 throw my 250 away.
Or any sifu get give me a little more guide.

I would rate it 8/10 due to the 3 9dBi antennas which can cover my whole 2 1/2 story house.

The set up is even easier as it took me less then a min to get online. The other setting you have to play with it in order to suit your need like QOS setting, wireless mode and etc

So far is a good decision to replace the crappy d-link router, $250 is a well spend money on a mid range router.

I just moved into my new house at Putra Suria Residensi, Cheras and very sad to be informed that Unifi service ports at my apartment is fully occupied. Only with more demand can make TM to add more service ports.. Quite devastated with this situation.

I subscribe to Unifi since September 2012 and never thought this thing can happen when I moved into new house, especially in KL. Now, I am left with the option either to change to Streamyx or cancel the subscription (penalty rm500)..

Any advice for me? Or anybody can help?

Downgrade to Streamyx & have them notify you once a UniFi port is available so that you can upgrade back to UniFi.

If the router is D-Link DIR-615, you can flash to OpenWrt firmware & use the USB port to turn a USB printer into a network printer.
With OpenWrt firmware you can also connect an external HDD into the USB port & share it with everyone within the same network.
You can also turn the router into a torrent downloader & save the torrent files in the external HDD connected to the USB port. This way you don't have to use your PC / laptop to download torrent.

Im using Asus router? Can it turn into torrent downloader? Can share how to do it? thanks

No. UniFi stock routers only D-Link DIR-615 can be flashed to OpenWrt.
The L7 is crap. No offence.

Get a custom router such as TP-Link TL-WR1043ND if you want those functions I mentioned earlier.

RT-N12 doesn't have any USB ports.
If you want it to be able to turn a USB printer into a network printer or make it as a torrent downloader, you need to upgrade your router into RT-N14UHP or anything higher.
