Go to the official govt.nz website. $109 sounds a bit too expensive, probably an "agent" instead

transit usually no need eta, unless is a long transit/layer... but best check with australian immigration website.

but think malaysians are number 1 when it comes to being refused entry in nz... so get ready all your documents, itinerary, return air tickets... all the standard stuff, even after you have successfully applied for nz eta

transit Visa ? you just need to apply for an ETA ... that takes a few minutes ...
unless you got randomly selected - for request for more information ..

did you receive an email ?

If that's the case then I did received the bad end of the stick ..I was requested for more information when I had an agency to apply for me. Was told to email more information for some reason . So I went and applied for transit visa instead since it's actually a transit. But then I've submitted since 11 feb and till now it's not approved yet zzz

need to apply at least 1 month prior departure - they will take their time to evaluate

if you have submitted all your information (make sure all clear - dont redact anything) - keep fingers crossed and hope they will approve asap

This is certainly not true of most countries. For example, Malaysian High comm in SG and UK no problem https://www.kln.gov.my/web/sgp_singapore/passport_renewal http://www.jimlondon.net/ppt_apply.html
