Great job Andrew on the photo comparison. biggrin.gif

Yes, I do agree the white balance - finally Samsung has got it right. It has taken some time, but they have done it.

Now I don't need to post-process my shots before uploading to Facebook etc anymore! thumbup.gif

Soon you will see Note 3 case flood in market  laugh.gif
*
When I was in Hong Kong earlier this year, most of the mobile phone accessories shops were literally packed with Note II cases. And that goes without saying, many Note II phones were being used almost everywhere too. The situation for Note III would be quite similar as even many Note II users are even upgrading to it due to the MUCH more superior camera, higher resolution, and better interface.

Why ??? Don't tell me you are like one of the kiasu n kiasi guy in XZU forum who worried about scratches. He even use phone with original screen cover with all the printed stuffs. Don't worry is gorilla glass n I tested dragging the display with blade n screwdriver on day one itself. I did similarly on Note n posted video of it on youtube
*
Normally I see those that worry are those that really saved up all their hard-earned money to buy it, and plan to use it for long term. But for those that keep changing, there is not really much stress to keep it scratch-less. LOL. my 2c

Speaking of HK, are they freak about Note 3 and S4 too?

Their iPhone price is ridiculous  rclxub.gif
*
Yes, they are. Samsung's marketing is crazy over there - very high budget style and almost everywhere.

QUOTE(un_id @ Sep 26 2013, 06:51 PM)
sweat.gif  really, who did that? but ya, because of the anti-shatter film, XZU front and back panel gets scratch easily.. but not the glass panel underneath of course.. my xzu already got a few distinct scratches on both front and back on the film, as i don't use sp at all.. i just wait for time when i think its ugly enough, i will just tear off the film..
*
The XZU anti-shatter stock film is one of the WORST Sony's decision ever because the Sony logo in the front is embedded to it, so you can't simply remove it. Also, it's not covered under warranty if there's scratches. All in all, Sony trying to be smart by giving a 'free' SP, but then again, free also at least they should give a GOOD one that is more durable.

screen protector not here yet, a bit scared.
call me kiasu or kiasi, but i am just like that. diagnosed with 7 types of personality disorder, with paranoid being one of the highest, so in my case i would say it's normal. and yes it is due to my screen protector's tardiness in arriving.
thanks, but i have a feeling i won't be able to last much longer.
*
Does it mean you are a clean-freak? Clean-freaks are awesome in general.

QUOTE(gogo2 @ Sep 26 2013, 06:53 PM)
hmm.gif  somehow, its hard to believe.. blade?

Also, scratches not happened to glass only. Without whole body protection, scratches happened to body as well.  cry.gif

Dude, please correct the broken-image link in your siggy which is bugging the forum. Someone has reported you and better change it before other mods nuke it. brows.gif

Yes. it is kinda annoyed that it is more difficult to get it removed now.
*
Yeah. Need to press harder at the S-Pen top and long term it might cause the chrome (is it paint?) to peel off. sweat.gif

Actually about the Spen being "too-tight" to remove, i heard that it would eventually loosen up and it wouldn't be as difficult to remove it.
*
It's the way they design the ridges at the top. It looks nicer but not practical to easily remove the S-Pen from the silo.

I just purchased SGNote3 N9005 yesterday. The battery performance is decent, S800 is blazing fast and I really enjoy my new GNote.

Unfortunately, the performance of the camera is sub-par compared to S4 (in overall), especially in low light condition.

Attached is the samples of the photo taken under low light condition, red spots (tint?) are seen on the screen as well as on the picture taken.

Could anyone confirm and reproduce this bug?, if not I'm looking for 1 to 1 replacement...
*
Your photos look quite okay to me. Hard to see the red spots / tint which you mentioned.

His photo, especially that sofa one is badly red tint at left side. While another one is badly noise at right top corner.

I believe something wrong with his camera.
*
Yeah. Now I see it. Thanks for highlighting Andrew. I haven't personally tested mine extensively. Will need to check in low-light condition tonight. sweat.gif

RM199 and RM79 is huge difference wor... maybe u should go to gardens...

Initially I thought of getting the spigen case but after using this anymode, I feel this is much better since my entire phone is protected.
*
do you mind snapping a photo of it and showing? i would be interested to get as well since the price is reasonable and covers the whole phone. thanks!

It completely encloses the phone when snapped shut, just the speaker grille is exposed.

IMHO pretty good except that the plastic feels brittle.
*
Thanks Chief!

Yeah, am looking for one that covers everything include the sides since I will be keeping the Note III for a long long time.

I might pay a visit to Samsung Gardens later to check it out - but may need to brave the crazy Friday night jam. sweat.gif

Use Note III as main phone now?
*
Yes. More pocketable than XZU though with a smaller screen. And the S-Pen is so addictive now. It really FEELS like a real pen now. brows.gif
I seriously don't remember it being this good when I was using Note II close to a year ago. hmm.gif

Couldn't test S Pen as demo set don't have.

Yeah. Seriously, go test it out especially in the S-Note app which has been refined somewhat too.
I believe the increased screen resolution makes the pressure-sensitive lines drawn by the S-Pen look even more beautiful, or maybe it is just me? tongue.gif

Nice touch of using the S-Pen to put a description in the picture. brows.gif

It's actually a flip case right? The top part will snap to the side of the bottom part?

Is the front transparent part quite durable? I wonder if it will be easily scratched. But great idea for a case anyhow! and thanks for sharing the pic! biggrin.gif

Well he went ranting on about the same thing OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER again........

He did it with the HTC One and before he got the Z as well.....

Anyway....I see most of the non-Samsung users get their phones for the following reasons:

1. I want to be different and not an ifag or Samsungfag
2. I want premium feel/design etc non functional requirement
3. I got bored with Samsung
4. I got device (x) as it meets my needs.

I suspect most fall into 1 and 2, and some in 3. 4 will be the least (for non-Samsung devices).

For me, I will state that 4 is why I choose Samsung. It meets my needs.
*
Relax and take it easy, Chief! biggrin.gif
I gave my comments in the thread, and hopefully everyone there will cool down now.

Anyhow, just to report that my Note III battery life on standby as below since last night until this morning. Pretty impressive I would say. All my push notifications were still on - including 2 x Gmail Account Notifications, Whatsapp, etc. thumbup.gif

Yea, I followed the discussion too, but mostly it is the bugs on XZU right? Sleep of death and all.

Don't think he was really complaining but stating the bugs and the handicap of the phone. I think quite a few users agreed with him since they shared the same issue as well.
*
I have to agree with you.

Despite Andrewtst constant harping on screen and camera recently, he did give very good hands-on information on most of the XZU bugs (which I was happily following) when they released the new firmware etc. I mean, nobody is perfect and what I can say is that people just take it easy and relax. Personally, I don't really see anything wrong with Andrewtst's postings as many people are indeed interested to know comparisons for the screen and cameras anyway. If Andrewtst were to stop posting altogether, we would surely miss a good forum contributor for this handphone section, IMHO.

defected in what way? my only complain about the back cover is that dust sticks too easily on it and too difficult to come off.  sad.gif  but i will ignore it for now as i have some cheap flip cover for temporary use.
*
The white faux leather feels more plasticky and less sticky, so could it be more durable? Only time will tell. But after few days of using my white Note III naked, the white faux leather back is still in pristine condition. But I will surely put it in a case ASAP to be safe.

My original cable, charger and earphones for Note 3 are still sealed and intact in original packaging. biggrin.gif

Based on my previous experience where two adapters spoilt on me, I think I will give this a pass this time and keep them.
*
I do like the charger that came with the Note III. It looks quite durable and the retractable pin makes it easy to be stored in a bag. Also, the cable is pretty thick. biggrin.gif

I have activated Evernote Premium 1-Year membership on my Note III for free. If I were to pay for it, it would cost me about RM 150 for 1-Year fees.

Samsung is just awesome, giving all these useful freebies bundled with their Note 3.

If one were to minues off the costs of these freebies, you are very well purchasing the Note III for a very very low price indeed. biggrin.gif

Just login to Evernote via the Evernote app preinstalled in your Note III. Then they should immediately activate the 1-year premium membership for you. You may need to use the same email address which is registered to your Google account when you activated your Note III though. biggrin.gif
