Perfect Dark Zero was one of the Xbox 360 launch titles and I've noticed that quite a number of us have the game. However, I've also noticed that only a small number of gamers actually play it. Most people have pretty much left the game collecting dust with zero achievements gained. Why doesn't anyone play this game? OK maybe it's old and I'm new to Xbox 360 but if you have zero achievements it generally means you don't play the game much. I've only seen tHomassUx play it a lot and he's gained quite a lot of achievements. So what's wrong with this game?



Gameplay: (9/10)
Campaign in PDZ is pretty cool with quite a lot of variety. It's not just go-kill-the-enemy-to-complete-the-mission kind of stuff again and again. The thing that makes PDZ cooler is all the different weapons you can use. You've got everything from pistols to assault weapons to grenades and even tactical shields (like in CS). Each gun has a secondary function and some even have tertiary functions. You get to choose the weapons you want to use at the beginning of each of the 13 missions so you can do it your style. You can play co-op over Live or on split-screen and everyone likes co-op right? However, Campaign mode feels somewhat short and the story is pretty lame. The multiplayer aspect of PDZ is great. You've got many game modes to choose from such as good old Killcount and one of my favourite modes, Infection. Team or FFA, it's all up to you. You can play with bots. So if you're sick of lagging on Live or have no one to play with you can just play with bots. Basically, there's a lot to play in Multiplayer mode.

Graphics: (8/10)
For one of the early Xbox 360 games, PDZ has great graphics. However there are noticeable graphical glitches. Character models look pretty weird up-close, some points the game lags slightly, character animations aren't great especially with dialogues and there's a lack of anti-aliasing. But all this is just minor and shouldn't stop you from enjoying the game. Remember this game was originally developed for the GameCube. Overall the graphics are great.

Sound: (9/10)
Music is nice in PDZ. It fits the atmosphere of the game perfectly and has a unique feel to it. Sound effects are also top quality. Voice acting could use a slight improvement in my opinion but there's nothing really bad about the sound in PDZ.

Replayability: (9/10)
I think the replay value of PDZ is pretty high. There are 4 difficulty levels and beating the game on each difficulty gives you an achievement. So if you like to aim for achievements that'll give you a reason to play. Co-op mode is always fun and same with Campaign, beating the game on each difficulty gives you an achievement. Finally there's Multiplayer, with lots of variety and lots of modes, all customisable.

Overall Score: A+ [35/40]

Note: This review is based entirely on my experience of playing the game and everything is from my point of view. You may agree or disagree with some of my points but this is what I think of the game. If you decide to buy the game and you don't like it, don't blame it on me

How good is the game?? Been thinking of getting it since day 1, but I don't see many playing it.....reviews said multiplayer good, single player not so much. Might get it after Top Spin and Moto GP is out

Currently playing Co-Op on Secret Agent with my brother. Quite easy. When I finish move on to Perfect Agent

Perfect agent is much harder compared to secret agent . The leap in difficulty i think is kinda great so you better watch for loopholes in every mission.

And just to satisfy my curiosity;
@Mobius: Are you and Keantan friends?
Because i saw both of you competing and buying the 360 around the same time so it just makes me wondered

Yeah I know keantan from school. I bought my 360 first then he bought his about a week later. He collected his 360 at the same time when I collected my PDZ and Wireless Controller.

It's not a must-have game like Halo 2 or anything but I enjoy this game quite a lot. If you're a shooter fan you'd enjoy PDZ I recommend reading reviews from other game sites as well

If you really like 1st-person-shooting(FPS) style like Quake, Halo, etc. then i would recommend this game due to the fact that there are no other similar FPS style. CoD and GRAW requires stealth movement so if u like those "GO-OUT-&-DON'T COME BACK" style then this is the game for you

About the game itself, i would say its not that perfect as the name sounds "Perfect" Dark Zero. There are a lot of improvements that can be done about the game, especially the campaign mode.

Multiplaying wise i would say its really nice especially with the introduction of DarkOps mainly Sabotage, Infection, Onslaught, Eradication,etc. Killcount on the other hand has the usual "DeathMatch" style i.e. Capture the Flag, Territory, Killcount, Team Killcount, etc.

The best part about the game would be the Co-op Missions which i enjoyed the most. The ability to cooperate and communicate with each other during a mission is just fun . Now even though i have completed the Dark Agent Co-op achievement i still hunger for more Dark Agent co-op plays (that's why if you still haven't completed it and require a "Experienced" player then feel free to drop me a PM).

Just finished Secret Agent Co-Op with my brother and got the 10 Rounds Survived achievement Played some Co-Op with tHommasUx who doesn't sUx as much as I do I always die first hahahaha. Tomorrow gonna try Perfect Agent Co-Op and more Dark Agent Co-Op with Tom or anyone else who wants to play Co-Op Weird though; I finished 2 missions on Dark Agent with Tom and I didn't even get the "Complete 1 Co-Op mission on Dark Agent" achievement Oh well...

anyone wanna do the normal co-op with me? agent lvl i think....

I am certainly and ultimately not the No.1 PDZ-er. I seriously think bro PrivateJohn is the best PDZ-er. Why?

Well his skills are definitely better. I seen him in action in GRAW and i tell you, i am amazed. Secondly, he completed Perfect Agent which i think is quite similar to Dark Agent. So he is the better PDZ-er compared to me.

In Mission, stage 1 i zero in that red outline guy with the audioscope and lock in (RT press) but nothing happened?...i tried a few times waited almost a min and even try the other guy in the warehouse oso...am i missing something?...

can help me leh...

You must use the audioscope to lock in (RT) and press LT to verify the ID. And one more thing, you must lock on the green-outlined guy and not the red-outlined guy (basically enforcers does not wear any shirt and their hair is blue in colour) .

The first ID would be the one standing on the left chatting with the black jacket guy if you are standing in front of the Club and looking down to the place you originally started (the left hand side of where you started).

The second ID would be on a balcony once you ride the lift up. The lift accessibility depends on you difficulty level. Secret agent or higher enable you to blow up the wooden door just at the back of those cars together with the 4 guys around. Ride the lift up and you would see the second enforcer in front of you.

The third enforcer, you can actually take the front door to the docks (by shooting the padlock). Go to the left (the enemy won't spot you) but you must watchout for the guy who patrol along the sideways. Walk round the sideway and you will see the third enforcer through the glass window in front of you.

tHomassUx (who doesn't suck) is teh master of PDZ. Listen to him

Not the real "master" of PDZ though . Just know the details of the game. If any of you feel like thrashing the so-called master of PDZ.. Invite me to a game of Killcount and you will see how much i suck at fast-paced FPS (compared to GRAW)

Hehehe. If I'm not mistaken if I skip Secret Agent and go straight to Perfect Agent I'll get the Achievement too right?

Anyway this weekend I'm gonna try to go for the PDZ Multiplayer Achievements. 100 Kills to Win, Killcount with Jackal Sniper as starting waepon and a few ViBlades around the map. That way it counts towards your total kills, your Sniper Kills, your Headshot Kills and your Melee Kills If anyone want to join, message me on Live

For the 1000 melee and sniper and even headshot kills, you don't have to put a "100-Kills-to-Win". Why i say this is because the 1000 Deathmatch games is so much harder to get compared to the beforehand stated above.

Now i am stuck with the 1000 deathmatch and darkops games to complete, together with the 1000 sniper kills. This weekend most probably i will be joining you if you play in the afternoon as i have to GRAW (GRAW4LIFE) at night.

Haha! Last night played with liang and ChisaKatana at Team Killcount. 3 of us against 6 secret agent bots and we got owned badly. I guess i underestimated the strength of the bots. Overall, it was a funny game, hahaha!

I only played until the nightclub level and then stopped. The puny gamerscore achievement for beating the game doesn't motivate me to finish the game. I'll try to finish the game when I ran out of games to play.

this game are more of arcade FPS (is there even such definition?), i played it online for a while but was put off by it. i prefer more on realistic type of shooter.

It's hard to shoot the enemies while you're taking cover. In G.R.A.W, you still can shoot your enemies easily even when you're taking cover.

I didnt say it was perfect but all those points are very valid.. Gamerscore points are not worth the amount of effort for a measly ten points.

But you gotta admit its multiplayer is really really good

If you're basing the game based on the amount of Gamerscore earned then yes maybe it is crap to you. But Perfect Dark Zero was the second game I purchased because I heard it was fun. I knew the GS was hard to get but I didn't care about that. I like PDZ because it's fun

And you can't really compare this to GRAW because they are completely different types of shooters

i borrowed mzaidi's PDZ n play single player, for me the game sux. i hate the team mate keep on talking to u, telling u wat to do, commenting on stuff that u saw etc, very annoying like a Syphon Filter game. didn't bother to try multiplayer after that

PDZ is a great game and provided me with at least 2 months of entertainment, the co-op mode is good, the game is also not as linear as several levels allow you to complete the main objective differently and the ai is pretty sharp too (on a decent difficulty lvl). there is also a nice mix of weapons and gadgets. the story is not half bad either. what else can you ask for...

Yeah, I've tried playing PDZ's multiplayer. It's kinda good, I'm having deja vu's of Time Splitter's multiplayer while playing PDZ.

I bought this game because of good reviews this game get. I'm not comparing PDZ to GRAW, but I hope that the "Cover" system is at least as good as GRAW's. It's hard to aim while taking cover, making me feel that it's useless to take cover.
