The Kenyan special forces were observed using the SCAR-H while responding to the 2013 Westgate centre shooting.

Difference between AH-1 Cobra vs Ah-64 Apache

The AH-1 and AH-64 fit the differing needs of the respective services. The AH-1 might be an older design and have less sophisticated electronics, but its slimmer profile makes it easier to operate from ships. This enables the AH-1 to provide support to Marines staging amphibious assaults and operate from smaller forward operating bases. Also, the AH-1 shares many components with the UH-1 Huey, a helicopter used by the Marines for transport and other missions.

The AH-64 is a larger helicopter with more sophisticated sensors, etc... The big drawback when compared to the AH-1 is size. The Marines would have less helicopters to provide close air support from ships if they had AH-64s. Also, the AH-64 fulfilled the Army's requirement to fight a mechanized war in Europe better because of the more advanced sensors and longer range. The Marines did not plan to get into a fight with the Soviet armored units in Germany, but to storm ashore somewhere in the world. The AH-1 can hunt tanks well, but the AH-64 is designed to do it better.

The Apache is a true attack hellicopter, with a full compliment of Hellfire missiles, FFARs, a 30mm cannon, and Stingers for self-defense... the exact things you need to raise hell in an enemy armored cav division. Its big and has 4 rotor blades, armor and sophisticated avionics. In the Army it replaced the Cobra back in the 80's. It is a formidable, maneuverable, and tough anti-tank and close air support weapon.

The Marines, on the other hand, still operate the Cobra, but their current model is the AH-1W SuperCobra, a twin-engine variant of the original. Its more powerful and a lot more capable that the original AH-1s. The Marines still use it because, like many things in the Marine Corps, it is steeped in tradition and hesitant to change. Thats the same reason the Marines still use the M-16 even when there are newer, better weapons out there. The Marines still use the AH-1 because it takes up a small area on their amphibious assault ships and they claim, at least, it can carry a wider variety of armament. It is also an awesome piece of hardware, but it is primarilly used for close air support of Marine amphibious landings.

The Apache and the Cobra are two different beasts. While both attack helicopters, they each effectively fill each branches's individual niche.

Jebel Ali Port was constructed in the late 1970s and opened in 1979 to supplement the facilities at Port Rashid. The village of Jebel Ali was constructed for port workers, and it has a population of 300 people. Covering over 134 square kilometres (52 sq mi). It is home to over five thousand companies from 120 countries of the world .With 67 berths and a size of 134.68-square-kilometer (52.00 sq mi), Jebel Ali is the world's largest man-made harbour and the biggest port in the Middle East.

The port of Jebel Ali has become the port most frequently visited by ships of the United States Navy outside the United States. Virtually all sailors who have completed shipboard tours have visited the port at least once. Due to the depth of the harbour and size of the port facilities, a Nimitz-class aircraft carrier and several ships of the accompanying battle group can be accommodated pierside. Due to the frequency of these port visits, semi-permanent liberty facilities (referred to by service personnel as "The Sandbox") have been erected adjacent to the carrier berth.
