Guys... I have an old Altec Lansing GT5051R and it been long time unused. Just recently took out to be paired with PS3. Well, it was normal at the beginning and I'm just playing using very low volume as not to disturb my house-mates. I always unplug the power plug from my extension every time after being used. Today, when I plugging it back into my extension and with the switch switched off, suddenly it sounded 'bom!' and when I switch on the power on the extension, the speaker ain't powering up anymore My extension just works fine and it been used for few years without failure... and my other attached devices all still working fine. By any chance where I can send the speaker to get fixed? My assumption will be the fuse within the woofer burned, that's the least case I can thought of... unless permanent damage Anyone care to advise me or there is any service center where I can drop-off my speaker?

QUOTE(power911 @ Jun 15 2010, 11:46 PM) short circuit maybe? but man... that speaker is one awesome speaker. it's classic it has virtual surround sound I think bringing to some electrical repairing shop should be able to fix it. just ask them to replace the parts with better quality ones as they normally replace low-cost parts Yeah, it is a good speaker indeed. I wouldn't be bet on the oomph of the bass, but definitely the clarity is something and just within my needs I also thinking to bring it to local electronic repairing shop, but wondering if they would service a multimedia speaker. Damn, I'm praying not the transformer got burned instead

QUOTE(power911 @ Jun 16 2010, 11:29 AM) They will repair them. Multimedia speakers should be easy to understand. Good luck Alrights, lets see how it goes. I'm hunting around the forum for anyone that providing service to repair the set, but at the moment not much luck yet
