Ardy7201, what is the purpose of this VPN anyway? Normal VPN will encrypt your connection, and decrypt on the other end. This process introduces latency hence the high ping.
Special gaming VPN doesn't do these encryption but all other normal VPN do, so they are not meant for gaming.
Besides, VPN works by connecting to their VPN server first, and from there you connect to the internet. It's like taking a long way around
You don't need VPN to play on Singapore servers. Best to turn it off while gaming.
I think he's using it to bypass the data usage. It's a normal trick for ones using the low end plan for broadband.Special gaming VPN doesn't do these encryption but all other normal VPN do, so they are not meant for gaming.

In my case, I am having bad pings to singapore that I have no choice but to VPN to my office to get better ping
Without VPN

With VPN

Tracing the routes, it seems that TM is routing the traffic to Hong Kong first before going to Singapore, while my office routes directly to Singapore
