Hey thanks for the review!

You mentioned the Image quality is lacking compared to the non pro version? rclxub.gif

I intend to get a dashcam and anything below RM500 is fine with me. Is there any good alternative to the A119 Pro/Non Pro?

Btw bro, all these dashcams can disable the sound recording ah? tongue.gif

If you can wait, get the A119 Pro later after Viofo release new firmware.

Currently, overall A119 is good. A119S has the best low light video but daytime not as good as A119.

All can mute the mic.

Thanks man!

I checked out Lazada and I saw A119 "Version 2" ?

Or should I get it from Amazon instead? Scared of getting a fake unit sweat.gif

If scared fake or no warranty then get from Sicurez as they are authorized Viofo Distributor in Malaysia. Guarantee original from Viofo with 1-year local warranty.

Thanks man.

What's the advantage of the Pro version vs non Pro? I noticed the Pro version has a smaller angle of view; 150 vs 180?

Or do you think we should wait for the A129?

A119 Pro I think is the replacement for A119. I also suspect that the A119S is going to stop production.

A129 is using Sony Starvis sensor like A119S and have dual channel.

Just by judging by the specs hardly any difference between the pro and non pro version?

BTW I saw this right now. How is it lol

Pro have newer lens and new image sensor.

Eagle-i? Overpriced oem china rebrand dashcam...

Nice but the angle of view (130 degrees) is narrower than A119's 160 degrees. I think it kinda makes a lot of difference.. hmm.gif

What's the best video cam below RM250?

Hopefully there's 1080p and capacitor battery smile.gif

Initially wanted to get a Viofo A119 but thought that it's not really that worthwhile spending RM300+ on something that is meant as a precaution in events of accidents and just a basic device will do.

Most car dashcams connect to the car charger via USB for power?

Would a 32GB memory card enough for the Viofo A119? And is there a need to get a high speed one?

32GB can record about 3+- hours of video.

32GB consider ok for basic. Now my sweet spot is 64GB.
*
Hey man, is that 3+ hours for 1440p?

I guess we don't really need 64gb as the recording will be overwrited and *touch wood* after any accident happens, we'll straight away stop the recording to save the video file so in this sense, an 8GB would even suffice.

But then let's say the accident happened in the morning and we continued driving and recording and another accident happened happened 4 hours later, the video footage from morning would be lost shocking.gif In that case I think it's just better to get 64GB straight to cover a whole day's worth of driving (who knows)..

Btw, any recommendation on which card to get? I noticed we should be getting those high endurance cards?

Would the card below be enough or others like the Transcend high endurance etc? Or do we need much faster cards than Class 10?

Appreciate your response smile.gif

8gb card is about an hour or less.

Actually bigger capacity cards have longer durability than smaller capacity cards as it takes longer to rewrite older files.

High Endurance cards are more for dashcam and ip cam usage. But some dashcams can't use them as the write speeds are too slow.

I prefer Samsung Evo Plus 64gb and above cards more.

Anything recorded during emergency won't get overwritten as it is put in a different folder.
*
How does the camera know which footage is emergency or not?

Based on your experience, would the SanDisk Class 10 be fast enough to record 1440p?

For the Viofo A119, does it save the recording if I turn off the car engine without shutting the device down first?

Yes. The last video will be save. No need to turn off device 1st, just off ur car.

The last video will be saved? What about the current video that's rolling?
