Hi, i got a question here. does any of this dashcam upload vids automatically to some cloudstorage in case of the car got stolen?

Another query is, is there any other situation needing the parking mode other than you car got hit while parking by another car?

Thinkware F800 Pro and Blackvue DR900S both have cloud functions. But will need wifi hotspot to work.

F800 Pro I know you can view the cam over the internet or will send a notification when gone out of a set geofence.

Parking mode is good to see who or what have hit your parked car. Not just another car. See who has stolen your car emblem(s). Scratched your car on purpose. Etc etc...

Few months back there was a viral video on FB where one girl attempted to steal HRV rear emblem.
Her action was captured by F800 Pro rear cam and her car plate no. was clearly visible in the video.

what happened to the girl? hrv owner managed to find her and ask for compensation? the police will sure open case with evidence from the footage?

these thoughts running in my head in comparing the needs for 'true' (buffered) parking mode vs normal/time lapse parking mode.

I believed the F800 Pro parking mode is activated because of motion detection of the lady walking and standing behind the car.
IIRC, a friend of the lady recognized her and her car plate number, apologized in advanced on behalf of her and arranged a meeting between the owner and the lady.
Not long after the owner took down the video footage from FB.
Maybe some sort of private settlement between the 2 parties

I heard that the girl paid for the damaged gold H emblem and apologized for her action. The HRV owner didn't want to make a police report.

The F800 Pro started recording when movement is detected and continue to record until no more movement.

Going to get either 70mai or Sunskysea B1W because I want a dashcam that is easier to hide and don't need the screen on it.

I am also researching on this parking function. There are those with 2 wire and 3 wire. I believe with 3 wire, the camera will turn on and off with the car. With 2 wire, I will need to manually turn off the camera (or switch it to screen saver mode). So I am thinking of getting 3 wire type to connect to the car's power unit. My question, does all dash cams that support parking mode works with 3 wire?

2 wires are mostly to power the dashcam. Engine start, dashcam start, etc. 3 wires like 2 wires but can also power the dashcam when the engine is off for parking mode.

Not all dashcam have parking mode function. Especially true parking mode which only Korean dashcams have.

Two wires also can power the dashcam when engine is off. You just need to connect that wire to the "always on" connector in the fuse box. However, because of this the camera will always be on. You need to power it on/off manually or setup the cam to use screen save mode after 30 secs of inactivity. Take note in screen saver mode the camera is still on but power consumption is very low. A fully charged battery will be able to power it for like 90 days even when the car is idle.

This is not as hassle free as 3 wires cam which I am not sure how it works as I have not come across any videos or guide on it yet.

2 wires hardwire kit supposed to connect to the ACC fuse and grounding. Connecting to the BATT fuse or "always on" is dangerous as will overheat the dashcam and drain your car battery very fast. This is why 2 wires are not recommended for parking mode. What if you forgot to manually off the parking mode?

Please get a proper dashcam with proper parking mode that auto on/off if really want to use parking mode.

3 wires hardwire kit and a dashcam with proper parking mode works together. Not just the 3 wires hardwire kit alone. The dashcam has a controller that controls parking mode when detected the engine is off and will auto switch to parking mode. That's how it works. Also will detect car battery voltage level and cutoff when low voltage to prevent drainage.
