Are these multi adapters safe to use eg. spoil the cigarette lighter port or reduce the voltage etc.? Cos if same as usb, i notice multi usb does not work well.
Maybe brands make difference?
I see many selling even in supermarkets.
Any experience to share?
Mine one safe to use. Got it from China thru ebay.
do you guys actually keep your DVRs or do you just leave it hanging on your windscreen everytime you get off from your car? I want to get a SJ4000 but worry people might think its a GoPro and go smash my windscreen to steal it. But if take it on and off very troublesome. What do you guys do? thank you
I leave my dvr in the car....but only twice so far ive parked outside...
but if my dvr is an sj4000, id remove it

go to foxoffer.com...get the price in usd (free international shipping)
after that google for currency converter.... xe.com is a popular one
Thanks.. browse through foxoffers and also this thread and saw most of the people are talking about the GT680W. I'm wondering is there something cheaper than can produce some decent quality of videos. I just need one which can at least capture decent video quality during day and night. Don't need GPS or anything.

Hope you don't mind another question, can the device run just on battery alone? and only charge when needed.. if I don't want to see the cable dangling in the middle of the car

yes but it only lasts a few minutes...so the battery is pretty much useless in a way hahahahha
most (if not all) DVRs comes with a pretty long cable so u can route it within ur trim.... the G1WH has this.
i routed mine within the trim... not that difficult....u can see a sample of how the cable is routed above by wiraone
wheeeeeeeee... May 18th track day is on!!! hope to book muh slot asap
will definitely be bringing muh G1WH
Isn't it better to use one of the smartphone apps for track day instead? At least it'll include lap times, and if you have an OBD-2 monitor, your engine specs too which a typical dash cam won't capture.

dont know of any android smartphone app that records video at the same time as laptimes...most i see on internet are video and laptime recorded using separate devices.

i use racechrono for lap times.
and im on OBD1
I've looked at Harry's Laptimer before and it records video as well as GPS/lap time and OBD2 although I use it on the iPhone only. There's an Android version too. Haven't been on track for awhile though since I sold the BMW...

anyway... ive read comparisons between racechrono and harrys and supposedly racechrono is a wee bit more accurate... n less crap to deal with or something like that.
theres also another app that can detect g forces and all that... but i cant remember the name...if not mistaken its trackmaster
i dont really mind though coz its more for personal use....too n00b to be posting much online ahahha
fixed the youtube for u.
EDIT: oh... n forgot to mention....finding a mount for the phone to record video WITHOUT the damn thing shaking all over the place is pretty hard... ive tried about 4-5 different mounts and all are crap and shakes like hell.... which is why i decided to get a DVR instead...unless u got any recommendation for mounts? (with links)
EDIT: just took a peek at the harrys laptimer app in the playstore... the version that records videos is RM82.... quite pricey for an app... but worth considering though.

Oh yes, finding a mount is hard. I've gone through a few myself, anything that's using cheap suction cup will basically rattle or fall all over the place for sure. Can't really recommend anything sorry, everything's failed me too
