Ever had that feeling "This is life huh" while farming in Harvest Moon? That feeling of normalness in a peaceful village where you just plant vegetables/fruit, take care of animals, talks to villagers, have sexy time with girls/boys next door, fishing and others mundane life of a sim. That feeling while holding your hoe or axe "I want to bury this in that guy's face.. or that bear butt". I want to ride a wolf yo, not a horse sort of feeling.. A girl/boy who lost his memory when he fell from the sky, and became an acting prince by order of the holy dragon Ventuswill. He possesses the qualities of an "Earthmate," allowing him to communicate with nature and monsters. At first, he has no idea what to do as a prince, but gradually he learns to develop the country in his own way.

XIao Pai - A clumsy inn worker who is conscious about herself, despite that she continues to work hard

Amber - An innocent and clueless girl. She has butterfly wings.

Volkanon - A senior butler who is devoted to Ventuswill. Extremely capable in his work. Vishnal and Clorica often seek him for guidance
Bado - The town talented blacksmith. Even though he is skillful with his hands, he is extremely lazy and often tries to find a quick way to gain riches but don't worry he is an honest dwarf.

- The love element has been said to have improved, including embarrassing situations for Lest and Frey. Character AI has also been upgraded, most specifically for the wives (but what about the husbands...?). They won't just sit around the house anymore and will go to different places. Hopefully, this will apply to children.
- Hashimoto has stated that the character AI in the game will be a step up from Rune Factory 3's character AI. He said that wives after marriage wont just go to their typical areas or patterns after marriage, and will go to other places for fun.
- There is no longer grid-based farming, so you can organize your farm however you like.
- Rather than having a friendship and jumping right to marriage, you can maintain a lovers state with someone and still marry someone else.
- Even though Hashimoto does not recommend it, you can have more than one lover.
- The request system also looks a little different, as well.
- There will be an RFF-style animated cutscenes for dates, festivals, and introductions.
- You can also build buildings in order to attract more people and tourists to the town. The protagonist earns a rating depending on how many people show up, the starting title being 'Beginner Prince'.
- The marriage candidates will now wear pajamas.
- The Prince System is used to build up your town and attract tourists as you do. Prince/Princess Points are used to build the town up, as well as hold festivals and even more.
- If you mange to build up a nice town, you will earn the title, 'Crown of Crown', which symbolizes that you are the ultimate prince/princess.
- Getting into too many romantic relationships before marriage will cause problems.
- Divorce is NOT an option. However, you can break up with your lover.
- The children will be more interactive than in Rune Factory 3. There are certain events, such as when the child takes his/her first steps and says his/her first words.
- There will be three difficulty modes.
- There will also be three different save files.
- A New Game + feature, which will carry over items and skills to a new file.
