Not the most convincing win especially against a team in poor run of form.
Lucas, Enrique and Hendo subpar today. Makes me wonder would our start to the season be even better had we gotten our hands on Mikhitaryan and Diego Costa. Both players have had convincing starts to the season for their respective clubs. |

QUOTE(4ddict @ Oct 7 2013, 12:01 PM) if im not mistaken, Juve under conte during their unbeaten league win is using the 3-5-2 formation. Difference is Juventus plays with a single pivot in Pirlo. With box to box type midfielders in Vidal and Marchisio/Pogba in front of him, Pirlo can concentrate on dictating the game from deep.Agree with Duke that BR buying Sakho and Ilori because he want to use this formation. Wait till Coutinho fit again and i think our SaS duo will bang more goalĀ This post has been edited by Cloud0890: Oct 7 2013, 10:21 PM |

QUOTE(RedSiglap56 @ Oct 8 2013, 05:04 PM) From the official site : Not in Carra's opinion he is not."Brendan Rodgers today backed Jose Enrique to prove why he has all the attributes to become one of the finest left-backs in the Barclays Premier League." "There's no doubt that on his day he's one of the best in that position in this country." Read the whole thing. |

QUOTE(Duke Red @ Oct 15 2013, 10:29 AM) Anyone remember Gerard Houllier buying an attacking midfielder only to thrust him into the heart of defence? Igor Biscan was sought after by big clubs like Juventus, Barca and AC Milan but we beat all of them to him and for some bizarre reason, Houllier played him at center back where he struggled. Because of injuries however, he played in midfield against Bayer Leverkusen in 2005 and he was brilliant. Playing out of position can dramatically affect your game. Look at the difference in Henderson's game playing in the middle as opposed to in the right. Look how Carra turned into a world class centre back after struggling in midfield, right back and then left back. Not saying Allen is world class but let us only judge him after he's been given a few games in the position he favours. This.Same thing going on at United with Kagawa. That dude is talented. So is it his fault for not knowing how to play in an unfamiliar position or is it Moyes' for not knowing how to utilize his talents? |

QUOTE(hfi @ Oct 15 2013, 02:49 PM) Well it's kind of both simple yet complicated situation for them. For Kagawa to play as the no 10, Rooney would have to be pushed out wide so it's either one or the other for them. The fact that they rebuffed Chelsea's interest in Rooney meant Moyes valued Rooney very highly. Unfortunately, Kagawa is not very effective out wide so he's stuck in a limbo at the moment. Or Moyes could push Rooney further up the pitch where he can occasionally drop back to help out the midfield. BR was facing a similar problem and so far his 3-5-2 solution is working in his favour. Moyes seem to be changing United's style of play but not brave enough to change the formation? |
