I doubt Stevie will get a rest against Newcastle. Not sure who will come in if he does. Allen is available for selection and had this to say :-

QUOTE
‘I can get involved more in the creative side in assisting goals. That’s a big thing. If I have the chance to play further forward, like I did in pre-season, goals are obviously another big element that I’d like to add to my game.’

I like intelligent arguments though. It's entertaining. biggrin.gif

For example, Paula Abdul vs Ryan Seacrest thumbup.gif

Paula answered reporters about Ryan Seacrest's apparent interest in Teri Hatcher at one point.

"That guy must be knocking his face against the mirror each time he sees it. And do you think Teri Hatcher is really that desperate of a housewife?"
LOL.  brows.gif

At one point, Teri Hatcher wrapped in Superman's cape was the most downloaded image on the internet and I can understand why. Have always thought she was hot since she had a reoccurring role on MacGyver. Young uns will have no idea who that is of course.

Arguments can be healthy but in my opinion, hoping that a Liverpool player screws up to prove a point is ludicrous. Have always preferred to debate face-to-face than over the internet. The tone of the conversation changes if you know or have met the person.

If this happened in Malaysia, I doubt anyone would think anything of it.

Sadly, it is pretty common for flers here to sell complimentary merchandise or tickets for personal profit. Still, I hope an investigation is carried out and the guilty culprits are weeded out.

Man, you guys will never stop harping on this. So now, I'm hoping a Liv player to fail in this case Joseph Michael Allen?  rclxms.gif

Great, go on keep on throwing accusations in, putting words in my mouth. biggrin.gif

My stand is very clear from the start, Joe Allen is not fit to play for Liverpool. None of you including led zep have prove to me, he has what it takes to move Liverpool forward. This is not something I concluded based on a few games, this is based on a long season observations, of course Allen lovers were quick jump on the trigger and bashed me. So far, you all just nitpicking on my posts but lacks substance when it comes to provide factual evidence, that Allen actually suited to play for Liverpool.

Look, you are a loyal fan and I respect your passion and conviction, seriously. But to keep on refuting and denying something that is blatantly obvious?  hmm.gif You were acting the same when Charlie Adam, Henderson, Downing were brought into the club. Almost all of them are no longer in the club.

What does it show? biggrin.gif "Oh it's carloz28 again with his negativity and pessimism that causes these players to underperform"...LOL

Awaiting more essays now and personal attacks. whistling.gif

Note that I mentioned Allen isn't good enough to start at the moment BUT I would like to see him get a couple of games under his belt in his preferred position. Indeed he under-performed for much of last season but I maintain that it's unfair to make a judgement call when he had to play much deeper than he usually does. Yesterday he was quoted as saying he'd like the opportunity to play further up the park and I reckon it's only fair he be given the opportunity to prove us all wrong. Again, I agree he isn't good enough to be in the first 11 at the moment. In terms of evidence, he has always done well for us when he's been played further forward. There were a couple of games last season (can't remember who against) where he came off the bench and almost bagged himself a couple of goals. He's also had a good pre-season playing in the opposition half, thanks largely to the return of Lucas.

In regards to the trio of Brits you mentioned, I would like them to have done well. Downing was one of our more effective players last season which is the reason he was an automatic choice. I never said Adam was a good player. In fact, I didn't think we should have signed him but I did say that he was worth as much as we paid for him i.e. $6.75 million pounds. Henderson is getting better evidently. I've no issues calling a dud, a dud when they have been given sufficient opportunities in their preferred positions e.g. Paul Konchesky and Christian Poulsen.

On the issue of your stance on Allen, you did also say that all British players are crap but failed to note that we have had just as many foreign duds. Also, you've not acknowledged that some of our better performers this season and last have been English. This includes promising talent - Glen Johnson, Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher, Daniel Sturridge, Martin Kelly. Speaking of evidence, I see no conclusive reason why English players are crappier than any of the foreign flops we've signed? I'm not a fan of England but like you, I'd like to see factual evidence as well.

Huh? How did you end up with the conclusion that I accused you of affecting a player's performance? Giving yourself a little too much credit. What I did say is if all fans got on the backs of players when they do under-perform, you'd not hear the Kop sing YNWA after every game, or we would not have heard that rendition of YNWA during half-time in Istanbul. I maintain that unconditional support for players trying their best is a compulsory attribute, but doing so doesn't mean that we cannot call a spade, a spade.

This video was posted some time back I believe. Personally, I take any bit of hype involving youth players with huge doses of salt. Too many have flattered to deceive. Paul Anderson was tipped for greatness as was Richie Partridge but neither are plying their trade in the Premiership. We made Mark Kennedy the most expensive teenager in England at the time but he only managed 18 starts for us. Stephen Darby was captain of our youth team that won 2 back-to-back FA Cup titles and was on the verge of breaking into the first team, only to be released. Reckon the emergence of one Martin Kelly has something to do with this.

Still, I hope the lad comes good. Seems we have a surplus of talent coming through the ranks at the back. When fully fit, we have the likes of Agger, Skrtel, Johnson, Enrique, Wisdom, Kelly, Ilori, Coates, Toure, Cissokho and Sakho vying for starting berths. Probably the reason why we're playing 3-5-2.

As the TS dillon I think you should not add fuel to the fire by making personal attacks on c28.I disagree with him on allen but I respect his opinions.

You should maintain decorum on here. You are like the speaker of parliament;there has to be impartiality from you.Relative if not absolute.

The TS' job is an effing boring one. Sucks being you dillon.

Now, now...calm down guys..

I feel the game against Newcastle couldn't come any sooner..too much debate going on in here..at least the game would provide something else to talk about..

You know as well as I do that unless we pummel them by a rugby score margin, have 90% of the possession and everyone turns in a match winning performance, we'll be at odds again la, not that I mind. The world would be a really boring place if we all agreed on everything.

Bro. I got what u mean. U ask me Anderson & Partridge? I see Ryan McLaughlin & Brad Smith a well prospect than Flanagan & Wisdom. Just like Kelly..when i first see him play. Dam...can't wait to see him played regularly ..same goes to Robinson. I didn't have faith on Adam Morgan. I know McLaughlin is good but once he played against roma & flanagan played..i knew he's a different cup of tea.

My 2cents. X argue. This is what i see coz i'm following youth set-up since my college days until im 32 now. How good ppl o press say..i gotto see how they play. Ppl was giving applause for Flano making debut at RB at the age of 17/18..but it didnt make me notice BUT McLaughlin & Smith is as good as
Not arguing or disagreeing. Just saying that I take all the hype surrounding youth players with some degree of apprehension based on history. I do hope you're right. I'd like nothing more than to see local lads step up and make the first team. I've always preferred local lads to foreign ones, because heart is something no amount of money can buy you, and local lads will naturally be more willing to put their bodies on the line for the club.
