i used to be a android fan, after that i found out that apps arent optimised for android compared to iOS, take temple run 2, run on note 2, you'll see black bars and the fragmentation is terrible, yes yes custom ROMs, custom ROMs are great if i dont need to check for updates everyweek to fix bugs i.e v13, v13.0.1, then v13.0.2

i'd rather have optimisation that enables my OS and app to take full advantage of my hardware and if my hardware is good, my battery can last and my apps can run smoothly


therefore Android keep jamming in cores and increasing clock speed to hide the lag, therefore they need a bigger battery and claims they create a 'new category' in the phone inductry because they need a bigger battery to power that hog

But the problem here is optimisation have its limits, but raw processing power almost no limits.

It is better to get a higher raw processing power and wait for optimisation than getting a well optimised phone but lack in raw processing power.

Regarding the battery hog, who cares? As long as it last long enough and don't took too much long time to charge, ain't nobody care if you achieve it with 1000mAh or 4000mAh.

Also, the gain in 2g voice call is improved as the mAh increased, even if it is power hog.

and as far as i know android has been waiting for optimisation for years already, still they're lagging behind, hardware span from lowest 700Mhz china proc to powerful powerhouses like octa core 2Ghz chipset, and as the day goes by, more will come and the dev will just 'cincai' do their apps and focus on different resolution than actually optimising their apps for different hardwares out there

android phone manufacturers knows this and thats why they keep adding cores and jamming up clock speeds to cover that issue
its like a circle, higher app requirements, new phone with higher performance, apple will just stay the same and let the devs do the work and the app will work beautifully. new app come out, phone goes obsolete, need new phone, then new app again, new phone, each with increasing power hog and performace


fragmentation is also an issue, i think you know more about android fragmantation than me right?

I first used android 2.3 then now using iPhone. I don't think I will go back to android. There are just too many updates.

I like iOS because it is simple amid all the restriction. I don't need all the customization. Just workable and simple.

No one is saying Android lags any more. At least for the Nexus product and some of the flagship phone. But the fragmentation and the constant crashes in mid end android phone is still serious. We are talking about the same spec here. For mid end android phone with the same spec as the latest iPhone. Oh and please, do not take the spec sheet as comparison.
