Nice find.

Really some good looking macro shots there.

Edit: Except for the Onion Bokeh... LOL.. but even some SLR lenses suffers from Onion Bokeh..
*
I don't see any Onion Bokeh? Do you mean just bokeh.
Actually that's pretty much unavoidable. it has nothing to do with the lens.

bokeh is produced when your focus item distance to the lens and the background ratio is.. near:far
it can be reduced by using small aperture but in the case of macro, the focus area is very near to the lens.
even with DSLR where you can adjust the aperture to really small aperture, you will still get bokeh with macro.

I actually wish Sony had maintained the power button size from the Z. Looks much more stylish with the big iconic power button.

i like the raised glass on the front of Z1 but one doubt remains whether the back of Z1 would allows water to leak in after prolong usage...

after hearing a lot of problems in their 2013 smartphones, I wouldn't even try. Their 2011-2012 waterproof smartphones has no complain at all.

Onion Bokeh this bokeh.

Tamron 24-70mm has Onion Bokeh.

The Nikon doesn't.

They call it Onion Bokeh because it looks like an Onion being sliced across in half.

Now look at the Bokeh on the Z1.

But then again, if the guy was using some Macro add-on clip, the Onion Bokeh could have resulted from using that add-on.

Maxis seems not carry Note 3 this time as well. From people comment, Maxis plain carry iPhone 5S/5C only.

Maxis is fruity fans, I think Maxis shall change name to iMaxis.

Lol, seriously I can't see any different except the low light comparison
*
differences in the colour saturation.

but as PocketNow pointed out that in real life, we take more photos in low light and I really agree.
Check your photos or your friends photos, you might notice that more photos are actually taken indoors vs outdoor with bright sunlight.

In the case of having the to install Folder Mount app that requires root, would bypassing the need to unlock bootloader works? Coz of the camera issue mentioned previously.
*
the short answer is no.

in fact as other forumers pointed out, you don't need to unlock your bootloader to root because they are not even on the same level. in a nutshell,
root - gives you full control of your OS
unlock bootloader - opens up the limit of bootloader, which when locked, is only able to load stock ROM

the fact that you asked this question shows you don't really understand what is root and unlock bootloader yet. let me explain more in detail if you don't mind, otherwise you can skip it. wink.gif

what is root vs unlocking bootloader?
root
root allows you to add superuser permission which gives you full control of your Operating System (more commonly referred to as ROM in Android community. That's it.
Once you have full control of your OS, you can also take full control of your hardware, such as overclocking, disabling the GPS, etc, but of course you need apps to do so. This is the same with the Folder Mount app.

unlock bootloader
bootloader is a program that loads the kernel and ROM. It is locked because manufacturers don't want you to simply install custom kernel. When you unlock it, then you can flash custom kernel, but it will be at your own risk because the warranty will be void.

In Sony's case, when you unlock the bootloader, they simply program it to auto-delete the DRM files thus render some apps useless, in the Z Ultra and Z1's case, the camera app too. luckily some XDA developer members have found some way to back it up unlike 2 years ago, there's no way to back it up at all.

thanks. I don't understand half of that, I'd rather follow simpler steps on how to install apps, and most of them require bootloader unlocking.

Forlder Mount was a suggestion for the previously discussed conversation between the two people I quoted before. I'm happy with my 16GB.

do you mind linking the instructions? let me have a look at what you have been looking at.
I mean the instructions to root.

They can because that's their way of earning money. It's the risk they take to hopefully generate more subscribers and viewers to generate their income.
