You can deny it, a lot pro tester had mention S4 is the most accurate color when you choose professional mode in screen mode setting. Note 3 no doubt will following.
*
I didn't deny anything. I am saying base off the images shown on that website. LOL.

If that is the case, then that's good.

QUOTE(Andrewtst @ Sep 20 2013, 09:13 PM)
A lot people know that, is not a big matter.

Most people change phone every two years.

Except the problem comes even before the first year if you're a heavy user.

QUOTE(Andrewtst @ Sep 21 2013, 12:15 AM)
Haha! Then no choice and your resolution really weird.
*
1920x1200 is 16:10 which predates the term FullHD. It's actually the more preferred ratio for professionals doing graphics etc. Most if not all Apple desktop/laptops are using 16:10.

QUOTE(XeactorZ @ Sep 21 2013, 12:28 AM)
16:10 resolution, lol
why don't set into 16:9 (1920 x 1080) ?
*
His monitor is most likely natively at 16:10.

Setting it to 16:9 will not achieve 1:1 pixel ratio.

Nice find.

Really some good looking macro shots there.

Edit: Except for the Onion Bokeh... LOL.. but even some SLR lenses suffers from Onion Bokeh..

I don't see any Onion Bokeh? Do you mean just bokeh.
Actually that's pretty much unavoidable. it has nothing to do with the lens.

bokeh is produced when your focus item distance to the lens and the background ratio is.. near:far
it can be reduced by using small aperture but in the case of macro, the focus area is very near to the lens.
even with DSLR where you can adjust the aperture to really small aperture, you will still get bokeh with macro.
*
Onion Bokeh this bokeh.

Tamron 24-70mm has Onion Bokeh.

The Nikon doesn't.

They call it Onion Bokeh because it looks like an Onion being sliced across in half.

Now look at the Bokeh on the Z1.

But then again, if the guy was using some Macro add-on clip, the Onion Bokeh could have resulted from using that add-on.

And I Don't know what onion bokeh you talk about also, I only know some lens cannot generate circle bokeh but Hexagon bokeh. But for me both got it nice moment actually.

You are looking at mobile camera not DSLR lens, bokeh output is by how many blade inside the lens [...]
*
I may not have been that clear with my statement, or maybe you missed the photo.

My comment has nothing to do with the shape, how round, how hexoganish etc. the bokeh is. Again, refer to the image below.

user posted image

It is to do with the texture within the bokeh itself. Compare between the Tamron and the Nikon. What do you see? The Nikon's bokeh is smooth and milky. The Tamron's bokeh on the other hand, has a similar texture to that of a sliced onion, hence the term "Onion Bokeh". See embedded image below in the spoiler for that of a sliced onion to see the similarity.

Now, referring back to the image taken from the Vietnamese website, ignoring the shape of the bokeh (center bokehs are round, bokehs on the sides will be different).

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Viewing the image in the spoiler, you can see especially in the center bokeh, there are clear evidences of the Onion textures.

I hope this is clear now. I understand the mechanics of bokeh, how round it is dependent on the aperture blades etc., which is a whole different issue. I am talking about the texture of it. Not its shape.

QUOTE(Andrewtst @ Sep 21 2013, 05:07 PM)
[...] don't you think you hope too much? Thanks it can given you some bokeh effect as it is just a mobile phone.
*
Actually, I would rather it not have the bokeh if it is going to be the onion ones. LOL.

It is one reason I ended up paying extra for a 24-70mm 2.8L even though the Tamron is much cheaper. It gets really messy and dirty. But of course that's subjective. One person's poison is another person's perfume.

Edit: To place the onion photo into a spoiler so as to not affect the post size.

Smooth sure look nice and clean. smile.gif

mmhmmm

Smooth would be preferable. I rather have no bokeh at all than to have one that's onion shaped, but gotta wait for someone to really test it. Could be an issue with the macro clip that guy was using.

Not true.

Crime rate rising very fast.

Inflation and house prices too!

I'm still debating.. The Z1 is very attractive.. but I'm already on the Z.. if the Z1 has better speakers and a 64GB option, 100% getting already, even if RM 300-400 more expensive. LOL...

i think the one way u can do is to cut loss...sell off your Z to buy the Z1  icon_idea.gif  especially if the rumors are true with 1H 2014 still using S800, the flagship price would be cheaper as well... not the stupid obscene price that is 2399  bruce.gif
*
Not really in it for the performance. I am very happy with the performance of the Z currently. I don't find much issues with the screen as well. As long as it's smooth, I'm happy, which the S800 clearly gives.

The three things that would make the biggest difference are:

Shutter Button = This is a God send, especially with QuickShot, miss it from my Acro S days

Better Speakers = The Z's speakers are absolutely horrible. Z1 improves on this, but isn't class leading.

More Internal Memory = 16GB is way too small. Getting tired of having to keep uninstalling stuff for more stuff. This is 2013.. should be at least 32GB min, with 64GB variant.

Personally, i don't think it's a problem with the 16GB internal memory
at least they give us an option of microsd expansion

IMO, it's easier to transfer between phones
*
Yeah, MicroSD is more important versus internal memory, but more is better for application installation and all, considering you only get 10-11GB after minus the OS and other stuff. Two Gameloft games and you're already down to half.

At least give an option for larger capacities. Let those who don't need them, buy the 16GB model.

this is what I don't like. before Jellybean all games knows how to self install into SDcard. now they are not doing this?
*
Not AFAIK unless you use a root/hack method to partition your MicroSD card for installation/app usage etc.

Correct me if I am wrong.

it makes the MicroSD no longer hot swapable but I doubt it matters anyway... how much is a 64GB class 10 card anyway?
*
It does. IIRC, doing so will also require you to use that MTP method for transferring stuff off your MicroSD, which I absolutely hate. I have never had good experience with MTP from the slow speed to the 1 file limitation as well as the inconsistency with the PC recognizing the storage.

Of course, this was my experience last year. Could have improved now, but it has still left a very sour taste in me.

Btw, Lumia 1020 is damn nice, only price bad. 2.2k for WP, I guess most people will go for Android or iphone
*
Agreed.

Nokia was sabotaged with that Trojan Horse of a CEO. WTF man.. from Micro$oft, join Nokia.. screws it up, and then Micro$oft buys Nokia for cheap and he goes back to Micro$soft.. =\

Micro$oft is not afraid at all man, doing all these right in the open.

If they didn't had that idiot and went for Android, they would be out there with the likes of Sony/LG at least by now.

They have nice hardware, good build quality, and best in class camera.
