web 2.0 suggests simplicity, and visible buttons......

IMHO, it doesn't really matter that your website is Web 1.0 or Web 2.0...... Web 2.0 is only a so-called standard, or I should say, a suggestion...... The users won't simply feel better just because it's a Web 2.0, but the overall feeling the website gives......
For instance, I never surf through MSN.com and Yahoo.com, not because they're not Web 2.0, but they give me a bad feeling... and why I make Google.com my homepage? It isn't because it's a Web 2.0 but it gives me a feeling of "Simple and useful", and not eye-straining... So do you get what I mean? A rating of a website is not depend on the coding, 'coz the users won't bother... It's all about the feeling the website gives, and this is the only thing users care about... Then why should there be Web 2.0 if it's not necessary? As I said, it's just a suggestion, based on the feeling a website gives...... You don't need to think so much on how to achieve it, just think of the users........ Your website isn't bad, but the colour contrast and the text formats give me a dizzy feeling, not comfortable..... Bright yellow and green shouldn't be on light blue...... I could hardly read the title "wahkizAx" and the links too because the contrast is too high...... and there're too many bolds and italies...... too complicated, I could hardly accept it........ Well I understand that actually what you want to show is the coding, but not the design... hehe... I just couldn't stop talking about the design... Ok, back to the topic........ In my opinion, it's recommended to use Class attribute instead of ID for CSS styling........ Why? It could mess up some browser as you defined so many DIV tags with the same ID...... |

static or dynamic is not an important thing to consider, it depends on your preference, and the design you've made...... but anyway it seems like your design works best in resolution higher than 800x600 only, while there're still a lot of people using 800x600......
I suggest not to use any serif fonts for your contents (well, titles I mean) as they are designed for printing but not for on-screen viewing... I recommend Verdana, Arial, Tahoma, Century Ghotic etc which appear to be neater in our screen monitor... add more spacing using CSS between each line, or do some formatting works (positioning etc) to make it tidier... 'coz it seems like the texts are sticking together... Colours are important...... We look at the screen monitor to browse websites (of course!), but not all the screen monitors are LCD one... like mine, CRT monitor, which is quite tiring already... when I see the sharp colours you have there, I feel like my eyes are poping out... T T Hmmm... too many bold and italies can be distracting...... try to emphasise only the Keywords... Yellows and blues are invert colours... and green is not in the same colour group with blue..... so theorically, they should not be put together (ya I'm talking about the menu)...... the logo is a bit too complicated...... background problem I guess...... hmmm... what's wrong with your Contact me title? you should adjust the colour... hehe... oh ya, why are the 'blog' and 'podcast' load the same content? same goes with 'Articles' and 'About me'... *ps~ Jay Chow has been misspelled to Jay Chou... haha... I'm his fan too XD Ermmm... one more thing to mention... the z-index of the 'Blog I Read' preview should be reconfigured... it's been overlapped by the texts in ShoutBox... Anyway, I like the right side of the website, the shoutbox and the background... but btw you should add some left margin and right margin for the shoutbox... hehe... that's all I want to say...... gambatey! |
