Apparently Yellow Lumia 1020s are discontinued. Nooooooo!
Just when I've finally decided to get my hands on one!

Hmm... I was asking the people at DirectD, I asked if they will be restocking Yellow 1020s. They said it's discontinued.

Hmm... Should I wait for it then? Or just get a white one? sad.gif

Btw, any feedback regarding the body of the phone? Since it's matte, does it get permanently stained?

Looks I have horrible luck these few days.

First, no Yellow Lumia 1020.

Now I wanted to order a brown Nillkin Case, also out of stock. Looks like have to go for black then.

Thanks guys for the feedback!

Have been wanting to change for such a long time!! Eagerly anticipating it

Dunno... sad.gif
That's what I've been told... so in the end buying white one instead.

If turns out that it is a lie.. I'll go all apeshit, man!

Anyway, I also bought the camera lenses from tskhor. Will go take some picsand post after CNY smile.gif

Found a nice spot for pics.

Got my nillkin hard case from TSKHOR.

Also got the mobile phone camera lense from him. the ring fits really well with the 1020. And the lense can be used with the hard cover. In fact, the lense fits perfectly around the opening of the nillkin cover, locking it in place!

Only thing is the sticking the metal ring on the 1020. A little bit worried about that.

no problem, metal or any magnetic material will only mess up your phone compass function,
so you cannot use here lense, augmented realiity app, qiblat compass..
*
The metal ring is not magnetised. So it shouldn't mess with the phone's compass, right? I thought only other magnetic objects would cause interference with the compass?

As long as I don't put the lens (the magnet), HERE should function as normal, I assume.

Picture taken with Lumia 1020, with the Macro lens attached.

The depth of field is... really shallow. Can't get to "focus" on the entire coin, thus the edges are all blurred. Not some artsy fartsy skill >.<

The bundled camera grips come only in black. If you would want a different coloured one, you would have to buy another one.

I think so. as other LYNers have said, DirectD is one of the most trusted shops by the people in the forums.

I've almost bought from them... but... concerned mother forced me to buy at a shop nearby our home eventhough it's more expensive, saying it's too risky to deliver expensive stuff through courier.

Hahaha... I was also waiting for the 1820. But thought about it... I don't think I'll need the "refocusing".

I'd much prefer the Lossless zoom smile.gif

try without using the macro lense pulak
*
Used pro camera, set to manual focus (shortest focus), then zoomed in even more. Plus a little cropping.

Used "camera", set to close-up. Cropped it a lot.

Original

After cropping

Phone had to be about 12-13 cm away from the subject for it to be in focus.

All this coin shooting is really giving me a good training in using my 1020. Woots!
I personally prefer the N8 when it comes to macros tho.
Ah... My N8.

My phone has recently given me some problems.

Can't open apps at times, for no particular reason. Everything is still running fine, but apps just can't be opened. All apps. Had to restart the phone.

Any of you faced the same thing?

Love the penang cats and the Broga one smile.gif
Very nice composition.

Btw, how did you manage to capture the Broga one? I'm really bad at capturing sceneries like that

Awesome shot but try get a clear focus of your object. If blur you won't be able to show the stunning power of the 41MP.  With that any phone with macro lens can do.

Then enlarge the photo to the maximum resolution while maintaining the sharpness.

Just my 2 cents.
*
Yep. >.< Will continue to improve, sifu.

Planning to invest in a monopod to help stability. Was wobbling when trying to capture these pictures. Hahaha.
Now let's just hope I'll be able to find a camera-friendly ant again.
