This is probably out of topic... Just curious if WP8 or Lumia1020 have options to reset/change the naming convention of the photo?

The inability of changing that in WP7 had gave me a lot of *****(1).jpg files. Not very productive IMO when you have lots of photo to sort through.

[EDIT: Spelling]

Is 1020's screen 2.5D (similar to 800's)? If so, does the screen protector works? On my 800 last time, the dust keep flying in left and right due to the curvature.

If I wanna delete the Debit/Credit card details, can I delete it through Windows Phone? Or need sign in through browser?

Normally I won't keep CC details after purchase  sweat.gif

You can go to http://billing.microsoft.com/.

Yes... you can add/remove your CC.
You could even set up your paypal account. But currently not supported in MY/SG store.

Don't forget that ability to refocus your picture is on the coming-soon list.

http://www.wpcentral.com/nokia-announces-r...and-raw-support.

I must say... after being burned with the 7->8 fiasco, this is the first time WP existing user receiving a substantial feature update for existing(Nokia) devices.

The link from WMPoweruser has a QR Code to make it easier to download
http://wmpoweruser.com/new-nokia-camera-ap...ws-phone-store/
*
The marketplace app will automatically notify you with the update. It will "removed" the Nokia Pro Cam but your Nokia Smart Cam will remained as separated app. Your SmartCam's photo in the Picture hub however will be updated to be opened with Nokia Camera instead of Nokia SmartCam. So you can go ahead and remove the SmartCam without any worry.

QUOTE(marauderz @ Oct 23 2013, 01:09 AM)
And with Nokia Camera the Smart Cam is rolled into one so now I can switch around them faster. Which is a nice touch, should come in handy when taking pictures of my kids.
*
Too bad now if you need to switch lenses, you have to tap on 'Menu > lenses'. Maybe I'm nitpicking here... but I found that the old switch icon is really useful.

QUOTE(marauderz @ Oct 23 2013, 01:10 AM)
Oh yeah. Hate the fact that they removed FOCUS LIGHT only from the Flash settings.. bah!!

Oh wait.. my bad.. seems like the focus light is ALWAYS used even if you turned flash to off... that's worst!!! tongue.gif
*
The Focus Light setting has been moved into the 'Settings' section with the 'Set by flash, Auto & Always off' as option. Me think it's better than the 'Always on/Always off' mode of old.

Other things that have changed in Nokia Camera is: More option on timer settings, horizontal slide to zoom & ability to turn on photo review.

QUOTE(Zephyr_Mage @ Oct 23 2013, 09:18 AM)
What I want in my Nokia Camera:
1. Save camera settings (presets please).
2. Option to disable post processing (annoying yellow tint)
*
GDR3 + Lumia Black aka Bittersweet will bring brand new image processing algorithm to 1020. More natural colour is promised.

I wish they add more scene option to the auto mode though.

anyone here with 1020 didnt apply sp? if yes, so far got any scratches on the screen? thinking of removing the Nillkin sp and use without sp...really poke-eyes-poke-nose with the dust collected at the edges
*
So far my screen & body still no scratches
My 2 year old Lumia 800 only have 1 tiny scratches.

Personally I'm more worried bout the camera module than then screen though. But me think as long as your don't put your key in the same compartment as your phone, or drop your phone on concrete floor/road, you'll be fine.

Sounds good.
Well just thinking of some options to upgrade  brows.gif
Dilemma because well I might want something like an ultra book this semester since I only have 2 days of class per week. My laptop is too bulky and super lazy to bring it to my rent house and desktop is of course a big no no.. Sounds perfect for a Surface Pro or a new Nokia tablet...but yes gotta compare it with buah.. lol
nod.gif
*
Surface Pro is now selling for 2.7k only. Apart from battery life (or weight)... there's no better combination in current market. My suggestion is to go for a Surface Pro with 2nd gen accessories.

You can't really compared it with Apple as it's not the same category. You should think it more to the line of ultrabook.

Btw, got any free (not pirated) software to do HDR or RAW file editting to recommend since 1020 doesn't have either of those?

thanks you all for the sharing about the sp, guess have to keep it on first until i find one good one..bohpian...

i read its the oleophobic sheet that get scratched easily not the glass, the gorrila glass more resistant. unlike xperia z/z1 where you can actually peel off the sheet away (and remove even the SONY logo!), nokia one quite impossible as the sheet and glass are fused together.
*
The sheet that come with Xperia Z/Z1 is not a screen protector, it's actually anti-shatter sheet.

Amen to that.

I think Camera lense is harder to get scratches?

My S.Galaxy S3 camera lense without protector and i always put with key, still good and no scratches
*
Some phone camera lens are slightly depress into the chassis rather than flat on with the chassis, that why it's less prone to scratches. Just the matter of time and luck though.

I'm actually more worried on the 'oreo' section of the phone. The brushed aluminium section.

QUOTE(Rei7 @ Oct 25 2013, 02:59 PM)
There is leather case one which protect the lens as well, but not sure where to get besides buying online.

I heard this is already confirmed as a Nokia vapourware d?
But I do saw 3rd party selling simillar typed of casing.

Over the weekend, I just realized two issue with Nokia Camera.
1. After merging with SmartCam, there's no way to tell in picture hub that this photo can only perform re-framing or can perform 'smart cam' functionalities. All it shows it just 'captured by Nokia Camera'. So if you want to do editing... you have to poke it one by one to know which one is it.
2. I've experience issue with reframing that reframed shots will not be saved. A fix on this is coming though.

Well, scratches on that shows how thoroughly used and worn the device is mar, gives it character! wink.gif
Shouldn't you know which picture you captured in Smart mode?  whistling.gif  Not after a few weeks for sure lar, but you should know when you're actually editing it after the shot.
Yeah, I was wondering what was going on when it kept crashing. After some experimentation, it seems like CERTAIN levels of magnification causes problems, so you might want to zoom out/in a little bit to see if it works. Luckily they know about the issue and is fixing it already.
*
I took around like 200 pics in one shot in a post-convocation photo session.
Everything look alike so it's not that easy to 'spot' it out. Maybe just my problem blush.gif

Thought I only have to revert to 'Smart' mode because the high-res shot was too slow for hat-throwing thingy grumble.gif. Shot to shot time could be very annoying some time, especially during night shot where subject is moving around.

QUOTE(marauderz @ Oct 28 2013, 11:19 AM)
I feel the shots have a slightly high saturation, but I never felt that it has a yellow tint.
*
Yellow color (or JKR street light) could appear very warm in certain scenario. WB doesn't help.

Wah.. if you wanted full sized fast shot to shot to catch hat-throwing.. that's definetly not something for a phone camera to do. As for the normal shot delay time of the 1020... is it longer than the 920? Absolutely, I'd say a few seconds it's ok lar, even if it means I won't be taking pictures with only 1 or 2 sec delay.
*
Day to day use it's perfectly fine.

Though I would hope 1520(?) and newer device would have capability of doing rapid shot like other platform have provided. Capture the right moment still more important than high res. But I won't trade this phone though smile.gif

oh . I thought that raw file will give us much better photos. as seen on the link posted.

just that raw file will able to be edited thru adobe rite?
*
raw/dng will give you the raw data straight out from your camera sensor. With it, you could do editing with original data rather than working with the algo-processed result from jpeg. Professionals/Enthusiasts will love this because with the right knowledge, you 'may' get a better photo by having more creative freedom rather than succumbed to what the phone's can do/can't do. Jpeg is probably more suitable for us mere mortals.

You can edit raw/dng with a lot of creative tools, but Adobe is a major player in this field and major supporter of the dng format.

AT&T did carry red colour exclusively once.

Quick ques guys.. After transferring old phone's contacts (from phone memory) to the L1020, is it normal that it doesn't display them in the contact/people section other than searching for it?

Is there a way to just show contacts from just phone memory only? Can't find it in the filter contacts setting..
*
The People hub by default will only show phone's memory/main account's contacts only. You can only view simcard's contact by importing onto the phone's memory.

The 'not showing up on people hub' is not normal imo. Got screenshot?
