![]() Just got myself a Lumia 1020 today. Upgraded from 920. Definitely satisfied with the camera plus the other best thing about this new one is that it's lighter. Yellow Matte finish is really nice since it's not that slippery like the Gloss Yellow 920. Faster, very noticible. 2GB ram is nice. Now to test some shoots. |

QUOTE(Rei7 @ Oct 7 2013, 12:03 AM) Just got myself a Lumia 1020 today. Upgraded from 920. Ya, the first thing that surprised me was the weight as I thought with the bigger sensor it will be definitely be heavier than the already heavy 920, so it was a pleasant surprise...and I love the N9-like matte design way more.Definitely satisfied with the camera plus the other best thing about this new one is that it's lighter. Btw, I thought the stills are good until I tested the video today with my friends...wow, beat all their latest smartphones by a wide margin in term of smoothness and stability..the OIS is really a big help together with the huge sensor, it looks almost buttery close to those taken with my RX100 for daylight shots...and the other 2 killer features - lossless zoom and manual video focus..can do all kinds of those creative shots...weirdly the Note 3's 4K videos actually look worst than 1080p on 1020 (framerate drops sometimes, and bitrate is weirdly low for 4k) This post has been edited by hox: Oct 7 2013, 12:55 AM |

Very nice info there bro.Btw, I thought the stills are good until I tested the video today with my friends...wow, beat all their latest smartphones by a wide margin in term of smoothness and stability..the OIS is really a big help together with the huge sensor, it looks almost buttery close to those taken with my RX100 for daylight shots...and the other 2 killer features - lossless zoom and manual video focus..can do all kinds of those creative shots...weirdly the Note 3's 4K videos actually look worst than 1080p on 1020 (framerate drops sometimes, and bitrate is weirdly low for 4k) No one has yet beaten my phone camera the 920 and now that i've upgraded to 1020 well.....Winner Well the video has always been one of the best features besides the still images. Even the old 920 was great, so the 1020 is gonna be better Samsung is a joke, I have no idea why people buy it 4K is the future but not now anyway, too expensive and too storage hungry. Still prefer Nokia(after the jump from iPhone 4), after thinking and researching, all those new phones doesn't even come close to what I want. Based on your experience and knowledge la. 920 has IPS LCD while 925 has AMOLED.Same camera on both but 925 the f/2.0 Carl Zeiss lens has had a sixth glass element added. Biggest turn-off about 925 is that it does not have a wireless charging function built in need to buy wireless charging cover which 920 have. I like the wireless charging as it is more handy and stylish to charge. 925 is a bit thinner and lighter as well. Not much of a real difference in terms of hardware/software just the appearance with an aluminium body. I would go for 920 though with wireless charging built in because I find it really handy for me. But 925 AMOLED display might be nice if you compare it with IPS LCD on 920. All comes down to you in the end. |

QUOTE(Rei7 @ Oct 7 2013, 01:57 AM) 920 has IPS LCD while 925 has AMOLED. Okay now that you had mentioned it, actually i don't mind the lack of wireless charging. The things that make me think twice to get 920 or 925 are actually : 920 is more popular flagship(afraid 925 will not get the same support as 920 is), 920 has bigger storage(i never use windows phone, i don't know how much storage will the system use).Same camera on both but 925 the f/2.0 Carl Zeiss lens has had a sixth glass element added. Biggest turn-off about 925 is that it does not have a wireless charging function built in need to buy wireless charging cover which 920 have. All comes down to you in the end. What i like about 925 : 1.Thiner,lighter and more professional looking. i don't fancy colors so much. 2.It is newer flagship, supposedly it should be better in specs, hardware even by little (like you mention the f/2.0 cz lens) 3.the AMOLED screen, it just look nicer and brighter. Your personal opinion, is this a good personal phone? In term of apps, do you see much improvements for WP8? Actually i had list out a lot of other options including some androids phone and even the latest 5s, which have much much superior specs but then when i think back, i want a phone that suits me personally, getting things done easily, not a superior phone with latest specs that i will under utilised. And of course mid range price la as i'm trying WP8. |

QUOTE(Rei7 @ Oct 7 2013, 02:10 AM) Selling to a friend soon. Nokia conquered every aspect of camera. Samsung and Apple didn't match for Nokia. 4k recording is nothing less than a gimmick. 1020 can do lossless zoom. Which other phone can do that?? Of course 920 925 928 808 can but all of it are from Nokia Just wondering if I could transfer some stuff from my old phone. Guess I can't, to bad no backup thing like iPhone/iTunes.
