Any chance of outdoor shots? The pics have too much noise when zoomed, maybe due to darker indoor lighting

Also, how many seconds between shoots?
*
If I leave the office during office hours anymore today I'm gonna get fired tongue.gif

Shutter lag between shots

~5 Sec Pro Cam 1020 (Surprisingly it doesn't seem to matter wheter you're taking 35MP or 5MP, delay is still the same)
~3 Sec Standard Cam 1020

For reference on the Lumia 920

~3 Sec Pro Cam 920
~2 Sec Standard Cam 920

Hope a firmware update will improve the performance. Btw, are you sure is 5 sec? That's.. nvm. I'll wait for mine to arrive and judge for myself.

Starting counting from the time the fake iris closes in, did the one one thousand, two one thousand style of counting.

Hmm, the photo taking speed might be a dealbreaker for this phone. Will go shop to test once available ^^
*
Yeah, it's not super fast.. but I wouldn't call it very slow lar.

More pics.. but.. cloudy weather over there.

Ok, word of advice, I'm putting the stuff in Zoom.It means that you can see very up close and see all the ugly, yucky compression alogorithms and what not.

Every camera is like that, go ahead upload your own pictures and try it with Zoom.It

*
Just in case arr.. the big box is a drawer, the phone is resting in it, open it carefully or the phone will drop out

This is probably out of topic... Just curious if WP8 or Lumia1020 have options to reset/change the naming convention of the photo?

The inability of changing that in WP7 had gave me a lot of *****(1).jpg files. Not very productive IMO when you have lots of photo to sort through.

[EDIT: Spelling]
*
filename is based on date time now, just try not to sync 2 phones into the same photo you should be fine. But I think the new windows phone tool does a better job of splitting the files for different devices now.

The Lumia 1020's massive pictures don't deliver magic pixel perfect zoom, it's more about how usable the pictures are when you do zoom in.

Check out this picture, and get a nice look at the shoes in the shoe shop at the ground level.

This is the 5MP version of the picture

Now which would you rather want to be available when you need to crop it out for a post?

and I successfully removed that stupid Zitron and sirim whatever logo at the back without destroying them...stick back to the box in case of warranty claim.

btw, like the matte yellow a lot compared to glossy yellow that looks plasticky
*
How did you remove the stickers? Lift by knife?

I never use zoom in my previous 808 for stills because it is not really zoom but crop. Once you zoom, it no longer 'pure'. But I do use zoom in video as it is real zoom compared to still.
*
Yes, you don't zoom when taking the picture, zoom AFTER taking picture.

Nice, envy-ing  drool.gif

But the box design bit weird? From behind...
It doesn't include the lanyard, right?
*
the grip's box mentions there's a leather lanyard insider the box, I haven't opened the compartment to find that yet tongue.gif

For those of you who didn't read the manual of the camera grip, you can stop if from charging your phone by pressing and holding the battery icon/button for about 3 seconds, the indicator lights will blink twice and the grip will stop charging your phone.

U mean the wireless charger casing? Any idea how much will it cost ?
*
No, I mean the silicon like one. Official one fits better than the 3rd party ones in my opinion. That was with my 920 lar.

If you already bought it, then don't look back and ENJOY your phone.
Some people buy things, then next day suddenly price drop or got special offer/free gift, it's also very heart-breaking; the point is, you already make the decision to buy at the price, don't look back and enjoy your purchase.
*
Yup, you bought a new toy, it's time to play with it and enjoy it. Don't think about wheter it'll get cheaper or not in the future, or ppl telling you it's not worth it. It's YOUR phone, not theirs!

Be wary of the original silicon cover, especially on matte polycarbonate. Last time used it on my N9 and the cover leaves permanent oil stains on the phone. It was common for black color N9 users and I've also read similar issues for black lumia 920.
*
Basically the little spots that make it look glossy right? always wondered why is like that?

im wonder those cases actually can protect the camera hump while we put the phone on an even surface?
*
well, if it encircles it like how the camera grip does it then it should.
