Look at this stupid thread! We have young people looking for the use of anabolic steroids. And some are saying it's ok to take it. Yeah sure, let's all ignore the long term side effects. Let's all cheat our way the build huge muscles the easy way and suffer later in life.
I'm a natural bodybuilder and i'm aware of the shit steroids do to your body. Not to mention the fact that I had a second degree friend who wa sa competitor in bodybuilding who died at the age of 29 years old due to a heart attack. Seems that he was a steroid user/abuser.
Gynaecomastia, acromegaly, hepatomegaly, liver failure, kidney failure, heart failure, etc etc. Just to name a few.
You wanna get muscles, do it the plain old fashioned way with proper exercise and good healthy clean food.
You don't need Vitamin S to get 17 inch arms.

Earn extra muscle but
comes together with more uninvited disease or problems
not only Dangerous n Risky!
but menyusahkan...

Go to gym more frequent la bro!
Put on effort, n try to take power bar
or milk that specially for muscle builder
to get extra energy instead of extra muscle directly
it will be more save n guarantee
satisfied result... u will be more proud to show them to others
since it is ur own effort
furthermore, u puas hati meh!

Good points. It's great to know there are some people here with common sense. However, i don't agree with powerbars. Natural, clean protein will do. Example, a powerbar may have around 23 grams of protein and costs more than 10 bucks. A can of tuna costs from around 2.60 to 4 bucks. But yeah, you got the concept right.
You guys don't need to go to the gym 6 days a week, 2 hours per session. All you need is just 2-3 times a week. Your muscles grow in the kitchen and when you're sleeping, not in the gym. Rest days are more important than workout days.

Everyone's looking for a magic formula or the magic supplement to build muscle fast. Ridiculous! I know some friends on bodybuilding.com who're HUGE without taking any form of supplements or steroids. Just very good nutrition. You guys wanna get big, do it wisely, don't overdo it.

hehe... both anabolic steroid and corticosteroid is diff substances.. but they are of same class termed steroid..

anabolic steroid build up body.. so as corticosteroid (such as budesonide for asthmatic, also can build up body leading to cushing syndrome)..

actually steroid is just too widely definitive...

anabolic steroid such as aldosterone is abused to reduce water content hence reduce weight (important in sport like weight-lifting, boxing etc).. other type of anabolic steroid is used for growth retardation is abused for enhancing performance and sort of..

Cushinoid syndrome bro. Not Cushing's. wink.gif But yeah you're right, due to the chronic long term effects of using corticosteroids. It mimics the clinical symptoms of Cushing's syndrome, however it's not Cushing's. Hence the "oid".

Don't have too much time ler darklight, just thought that i should tell him he got his info wrong haha.

My lecturer uses the word Cushing's syndrome too ,i don't think youngkies is wrong btw

Hehe. You have too much time you monkey! tongue.gif
Anyway, i understand what you're getting at. But you see, Cushing's syndrome is due an excessive endogeous production of glucocorticoids, mainly hydrocortisone. Pituitary dependent Cushing's syndrome is the commonest form of endogenous hypercorticism, accounting to more than 2/3rds of all cases.

An adrenal adenoma accounts for up to 20% and carcinoma (which may be bilateral) 5 per cent. There's also non ACTH dependent primary adrenocortical hyperplasia, but i won't go there yet. Alcoholism can also be considered.

These are pathophysiological aspects of Cushing's syndrome. Cushinoid's syndrome however, is caused by chronic corticosteroid use. The clinical symptoms like i said are similar to Cushing's syndrome, but less.

However, in it's most typical form, it's exogenous, and seen in patients treated with large doses of cortisone over long periods for nonendocrine diseases, partcularly rheumatoid arthritis and in patients receiving transplants.

I guess in some medical texts, they are used to describe the same thing.

nowadays, ppl rarely use the term cushinoid anymore..

iatrogenic cushing syndrome is cushing syndrome caused by drugs.. anyway watever term also the same la..

It's a matter of semantics yeah, but i'm in contact with HOD's and specialists in various departments, Medicine, Surgery, etc. That term is still used. wink.gif
Plus I've made enquiries with my father who's been practicing for more than 20 years. I pretty much make sure or else i wouldn't state it here.
