I scan many files into .tif format bacause I use Microsoft document imaging for OCR tasks. However it is a tedious task to add pages to a .tif file via Microsoft document imaging program as you can only add one file at a time. Although other OCD programs can do it very easily, Microsoft Document Imaging has just the perfect interface for the task I have to do. I have tried a few programs to merge many .tif file into one file, but they always reduce the DPI which is vital for OCR task. No matter how I set it, all the programs automatically reduce the DPI. Is there any prorams that I can use to merge .tif files into one without loss of DPI, resolution and size.

Merge them into one .tif file. Because tif file supports multiple pages, just like PDF.

I can make it into a PDF, but that is not an prtion as I want to use Microsoft Office Documnet Imaging program to do the OCR and transfer text. all other OCR can regconise Malay as well as this one and they are too automatic.

PDF OCR is much worse the Ms Document Imaging in recognising Malay. And I really need the feature in Ms Document Imaging to select the are I want to copy the text from. It is really convenient as I get to see what part of the scanned picture I am copying.
