if u hv finish develop 2 systems, now is only supporting the daily bugs, sometimes change some coding, do changes requested by user and maintain the system.

now ur boss wanna u learn new things, give u another system to do, full time to develop this system.

now is the question, how u can full time do the system without any interruption from supporting old system? if there is not enuf resources from company, other people oso got their own works to do...

if i only part time help to develop the new system, i can't learn new things, can't fully handle it...

if u r me, how to overcome this problem?

well here's my opinion

i dun think fulltime or part time is the main problem. the main problem would be how good is your foundation to develop a new system or maintain a system.

if ur boss tell u to develop a new system, it won't be any probem (assuming same platform, same version of language u using). as long as u have good foundation in that language, u can do it no matter how long would it takes.

fulltime or parttime is only when you want to speed up the developing progress. if your boss require in a short period, u might need to work fulltime doing it, and also might require extra resources to help out.

well parttime would be doing all u could while parttime lor, and the period absolutely much longer compare to fulltime.

correct me if i am wrong.

Sguy,

Handling interruption in an efficient way is part of working life. Learn how to deal with it is call time management. It is a fact of life that you will alway have too much to do and too little time to do it. This is why you talk to your boss and find out how you prioritize your work and how much time you should spend on each task.

both of them are right. handle your priority rights and arrange your work in accordance. part or full time, small or big platform, one man show or no man show,
one man salary pays with 2 man's job, your persistency and patience can tell how
strong you are. Take it as a challenge from God. it can be trial for you.

you yourself know what's right and wrong.

Good Luck
