Some comments are really unreasonable, bear in mind that the developer (or owner) of this Mall has to consider the potential buying power and total market catchment before they build the Mall, it is a multi millions investment, a wrong forecast may cause massive loss in short term.
As I said earlier, average purchasing power is 5 in this area compared to 1U / Sunway / MV of 8, KLCC 10.
For this condition, how can one expects a super premium mall which has luxury retail shops around? This area posses no tourist attraction (future might be as KLIA is near), for this initial setup (based in 5 rating), I must say IOI has done a good job.
If one still say IOI City Mall is nothing special, then to me the MV is very outdated and need to rebuilt, the tenant mix is not up to the needs of higher purchasing group (rating = 8).
This is the best for IOI to offer in this region, based on IOI ability, she can go higher to build something more exclusive like Pavillion KL, the result will be tenant not business and IOI making loss.
P/s : IOI Group acquires Taiwan 101 Tower 37% stake

And they are successful again? rclxms.gif

Fail mall can turn to college or uni. Semi or fully used.

Macam last time limkokwing was at mall near kelana jaya. Whole mall fully turn to lict college.

Or macam southcity seri kembangan macam part of it turn to segi college.

Or can turn to indoor pasar macam central mall at okr.

Manyak possibilities.

Tambah tambah Sibeh rm30++ psf. Rental Sibeh higher than midvalley. Hai... Midvalley management stil the best of the best despite sometime lcly. So far Midvalley is the only mall c money come at second place.

Confirm liao ioi city mall phase 2 start very soon. Bridging will be at the district playground lvl and lg floor.

U said alamanda 1 race mall. this is because putrajaya is a 1 race place. for that matter, ioi city mall also many malai shoppers.

so even though a lot of malai shoppers, ioi city mall is still a success right?
*
Alamanda got I-dragon or not? Got morganfield or not? Alamanda just a Jialat 1 race mall concept.

Only iOi city Mall ada and it successful with more choices.
More multiracial friendly.

Sibeh good kv south highway access. But poor on public transport. Can't do good in long run. Something need to be done. Especially when phase 2 ready. They need to increase more traffic to sustain the huge number of retail shops there. After they failed to pull mrt2 line in. They got plan on brt or free shuttle bus around boh?

Tommy, RL, zara may only enter in phase 2 as they cant see the tourist crowd coming all the way to IOI City n not confident with the mall management initially..

they would prefer to open up in empire city as the concept n many luxury hotels can bring in tourists.. phase 2 is the best bet but i doubt many luxury retailers would wana go in IOI City cry.gif  cry.gif
*
Koret!!! Nowadays the type of mega size mall too over confident as they think they will survive on just serve local shoppers. Jialat mindset.

Mv doing super good outside of kl city all due to high number of tourist footfall..

Boss,

I feel MV doing good due to mix of local n tourist la.. But i see many taking cab n train also to MV.. think the LRT, KTM (klang) will really add on to MV's value la.. IOI City MRT i feel too far from the city n cant bring in 'that' many shoppers..
*
That's why this type of mall need both type of shoppers to sustain. If cut off tourist Hard to survive with huge number of tenants. Either way. Purely depend on local also cant do that well.

U think tourists will really come all the way to IOI City? I feel putrajialat can really be promoted further as a tourist spot.. looks very nice wor.. need to build 1 theme park to bring in more ppl  brows.gif  brows.gif
*
But 1 thing for sure. Highway access sibeh very good for iOi city mall. Chansi is high to attract tourist after visit putrajialat. But management need to do something to pull the tourist crowd in. Macam work with some tour company and tourism Malasia. To increase exposure.

Yeah but I still dnt think MRT is that big of a factor for outskirt malls like IOI City.. Very important to note that today's malls outside the city centre like MV, SP, 1u, Paradigma didnt rely on public transport to bring in shoppers which effects have been overstate by many.. Many public transport malls like NuSentral continue to struggle..

IOI City is already considered successful n they relied on good location n access with good tenants to bring in shoppers.. hmm.gif  hmm.gif
*
Nu sentral mall has a few bad designs.
1. Jialat Escalator safety issue.
2. If u aware the walkway on high floor sibeh sempit. Some corridor walkway at high floor only around 4 to 5ft wide. Too sempit to walk. Macam Anytime kena push will fall down.
3. Tenant arrangement also fail Liao.

IOI city mall is the worst shopping mall in klang valley, no attractions, sibeh far,  tenants sucks!!!!

Frankly speaking, I will not go there for second time. People go there because of it is new and big.
*
What to do. Second class management mindset. If Let Mv, Sunway team or capitaland management it. Sure better. Coz all this are strong regional mall players.

Hardly cant ignore this mall. Locate next to prominent highway. Location sibeh good. Very easy access from highway. No need drive deep deep in. Almost a must passby for people from putrajaya to kl or kl to putrajaya. Or go airport. No need lrt or Mrt already sibeh Ong. Tak macam some mall even with lrt, Ktm all Sampai also cannot Ong.

The position very macam midvalley. Midvalley stand at the throat of kl and pj. This iOi City mall stand at the throat of putrajaya and south klang valley. Lagi wait the surround mature macam Midvalley. IOi city mall will be Lagi powerful.
