go and get some old compact camera lens and do your own hacking..

Meniscus lens design is about the easiest to muck about.. if you want a slightly better design then a rectilinear design making up of to meniscus lens. for add on, 4 elements are about the best design..

unless you understand the basics of lens design which are not that many. finding suitable pieces of donor glass from abandon cameras and sticking them together is not too difficult a task.. Making it look nice and commercially acceptable is another story; which is typical of home brew products unless you have access to machine shops and plenty of time..

To make the lens free of chromatic aberration is a totally different game... this one is out our league. Else everyone will be a Carl Zeiss engineer.

thank you very much bro. actually not looking to make carl zeiss like lens. just looking for the normal lens which can make things look closer like meniscus but i want to make it my size and everything. the lens quality is optional, but the sizing matters. so am looking for a shop where i can actually order that particular lens or by any chance someone who can offer DIY method for the lens will be more helpful. its a solar experiment, but the lens somehow related to photography am i right? thats why i put the thread here... sorry if its not related. but please suggest me something
