Din noe tht it was cool enough already for 24/7 operation cuz i had 2 previous adsl modem(aztech and D-link) tht died from heat stroke  biggrin.gif

I rather make sure the chips remain close to room temp rather than having it to die few months after my waranty expires....which was wat happen to my D-link when i ignore the heat emitted from the modem...i was pretty sure the chips are well above 60'c all day long. wink.gif

*sigh* it won't be that hot till it burn la. since most of these branded modem have proper QC. since you're going to mod it. the heatsink and fan will not fit to the old case. case mod? adding fans doesn't necessary mean cooler components all the time. small fans have the tendency of getting clog with dust and this will bring up more heat( not to mention the fan itself will produce heat when it gets restricted from rotating due to dust. adding fan will result in unstable modem too. cause its sucking power.

good luck in your mod definately will keep track on your mod. nice dare huhu.

ps. erk holding the pcb board with your bare hands is dangerous leh. just my comment. thanks
