In a photographers opinion, do you think using preloaded photoshop actions is a way of cheating, or is it smart?
How about those professional photographer, do they use photoshop action as well, or they custom the actions themselves?

QUOTE(em0kia @ Sep 18 2013, 01:37 AM) Okay, so i have been looking around for some photoshop techniques and i stumbled upon some pages where i get to download photoshop actions. It's not cheating. In a photographers opinion, do you think using preloaded photoshop actions is a way of cheating, or is it smart? How about those professional photographer, do they use photoshop action as well, or they custom the actions themselves? Using someone's custom edit or your own edit has exactly the same consequences. That being said, you can't simply copy paste someone's custom setting onto all your photos. They will look ugly. A bulk of photoshop work can't be easily automated too, like masking, healing or liquefy. |

Just apply the filter then do tweaking.
When you attend workshops, like say Manny Librodo workshop, you'll see how he use SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many of the filters on so many layers and such. |

QUOTE(em0kia @ Sep 18 2013, 06:16 PM) Okay thanks for the guidance They're both used for very different function. Haha! Now i just realize that there are not much lightroom actions. More towards photoshop... In your opinion, do you think lightroom>photoshop? Lightroom is for raw photo management with simple adjustment. Photoshop is for the complete editing package. Most of the time, we need both. Although Lightroom is far easier to use. This post has been edited by LegendLee: Sep 18 2013, 06:44 PM |
