Void if different sizes and different altogether. If you want to change rim and still want warranty, then when it is time to use that 5 year warranty, need to change rim back.

Some SA say can change rim, but IINM this will void warranty as it breaches the T&C.

Just wait 5 years la. No hassle. Rims already nice 17 inch. Still can't get Pioneer Appradio3 here. So after 5 years or 150k km (whichever first) then change what you want. For some people working in KL, that 150k km is 2 years. I bet most people will hit the 150k km first before the five year.

Also, I am certain some people will gladly pay for the stock rims


Did KB-KL-KB again. Can take corner at high speed with all the driving aids 120 km at Simpang Pulai-Cameron route. The car does give you confidence to take corners at speed, however our malaysian non-toll roads are not 100% fully maintained. So it might be a hassle to go flat out. Anything higher than 140km is a hassle because the hard suspension starts to affect your spine Also, while the car can handle well, I'm not sure the driver can maintain proper steering position above this speed. Clearly the handling is made for twisted roads below 120 km. Also not a lot of road drivers go slow into corner, accelerate out of the corner for safe fast driving. Usually what happens is accelerate into corner, sudden brake in the corner, then accelerate back after recovering speed.

Another thing is that I noticed that I only used the paddle shift once for overtaking and did not use the +/- gear shift. The only reason was downshift to initiate the turbo at 60 km for quick overtake. Also, at 140km, I noticed the RPM is about 2.7k. Since the turbo goes to 4k RPM, does anyone know what speed you can achieve at that RPM level? At 140km, you hear more road noise rather than engine noise. So hope proton can improve the padding for future cars. I think next 5 years, you can get aftermarket active noise control technology which you can retrofit to cars.

If you stick to the speed limit, it is possible to do KB-KL on 1 tank. I think can go up to Nilai with 1 tank. I actually think it is time proton moved back to analogue fuel and temp dials. This proton savvy tech should be the last in the Suprima. Whatever D-segment Exora-platform car Proton is planning, they cannot use digital dials. You can use the electronic dials, only that you rarely see digital fuel indicators for cars in this segment. It actually makes the car less upmarket when you put too much digital dials. Yes, new BMW/range rover uses a digital display, but then the dials are made analogue. Also, makes it hard to guess fuel levels. 1 bar can be anywhere between 50km-180km.Unless the digital bar has more intervals, then it is ok to use the digital dials.

I like the radio auto search function (or whatever it is called). On the perdana and previous accord, you have to manually search the same station whenever you go outside of your region. In the Suprima, you set the radio stations once, and that is it. No need to search back for the same station in a different state. In fact, my whole radio FM wave preset changes depending on where I go. Almost like digital radio in UK but on FM. I leave the "AF" button on as it gets better reception at remote locations. What I don't like about the radio unit is that, if you turn off the car, the mp3 playlist you were on gets reset. This is annoying if you want to listen back where you left. Also, if you go out from MP3>Radio>MP3 then it resets back as well. This is a flaw with the current Android HU unit used. Not that much hassle, but still a hassle.

One thing Proton can do:
One thing I did notice is the rear wiper interval. Is it possible to change the speed of the interval to like once every 10 secs or so? There are two settings. Either the one time for water spray or the always on which seems to be designed more for rally/offroad rather than on PLUS highway or normal roads. The wiper moves quickly, in heavy rain, too quickly for rain to accumulate on the screen. I was in KL during the flash flood in Cheras. The current speed is too fast.

Is it possible to recalibrate the wiper speed at SC?

The auto wipers are good. Slightly on the faster side, but I can live with that. It changes nicely depending on rain intensity, though for very light drizzle, it is better off (my preference), since you sometimes don't even use the wipers at all in drizzle.

Does anyone know if it is safe to use engine breaking in this turbo car? When I go down steep roads, I just lift my foot of the throttle. I hear a definite roar from the engine as the RPM shows about 3k, but speed is about 40-60 km. I am not sure if the turbo is engage in that kind of situation. Pressing the throttle while going downhill actually helps lessen the sound from the engine.


Another note, I saw 1 white SS at Jln Ampang few days ago and 1 Silver SS in KB. Slowly more people will buy the car. I also notice a new FoFo, and other faster cars, suddenly slow down match my 130 km speed for half an hour than speed back So I sometimes turn on the lights just to show the LED rear lights, since I guess that is the best I can show in that condition

Against a FoFo hatchback at non-toll B road, I will say that the FoFo can beat the the SS at non-toll winding roads. It can keep up, and despite my best intentions to pull away from 60-140 km, the FoFo will beat the SS since it has a bigger engine. The only reason the FoFo (or some other higher performance car/motorbike not pulling away) is to look at the car. So SS owners don't think for once that Accord cannot beat you Don't "SS"
