Hi,

I've went to JPN today and from what I understand, I'll need to have my partner's single status letter, which is originally in Vietnamese, translated to English and have it verified by a malaysian embassy in Vietnam or vietnamese embassy in Malaysia.

After that, we will need to go to Putrajaya to have that letter verified by Kementerian Luar Negeri, and then we will have to go to JPN to register our marriage. She will be staying in Malaysia btw.

I have several questions to ask:

Do I need to provide my single status letter to her for her to have it verified in Vietnam?

Do I need to go to Vietnam to sign marriage contract?

What are the immigration procedures that I will need to go through to have her to be eligible to stay here for long periods of time, and to work as well?

What documents do I need to prepare for the immigration?

Anyone with experience or knows the procedure, please help...

thanks for the answer... erm i'm selling the figures cause I kinda lost interest in it already smile.gif

wan buy? tongue.gif

btw, is there any cool off period before she can come back to Malaysia? she's now under working permit, and her contract will end this coming October. As far as I know, the agency made her passport for her, so will that impact her ability to come here?

I have never read of any cooling period.

Anyway, don't you need to get her birth certificate as well to register for your marriage?

I still have the check list with me. I'll get it scan and post here later on.

The check consists of 20++ items. Some documents you have to get stamped at LHDN, embassy, KLN.

If u or yr wife is a divorcee, there r few more certificates to provide.

The whole process involve about RM3~4k.
My case, I'm a divorcee marry a PRC gal.

could you let me know what are the documents you prepared? did you get a wedding agent to do it? or you did it by yourself?

I did it by myself.

I'll skip the JPN part. Register at marriage at JPN is easy. Just check at JPN counter.

Below is the Social Visit Pass (LongTerm) application check list and working endorsement checklist.
*These procedure is AFTER you married and had your marriage certificate.

My case, we get 5 years social visit pass for 1st time application smile.gif

may I know which procedure costed you the most? since you said total cost is 3~4k, were they documentation costs or more towards transportation and flights?

Documentation costs + Security Bond (RM1500).

My wife was staying here before we married. She was on her student visa back then.

Hi this post is age but I got similar question.

For the statement of marital status from national registration department Malaysia, ministry of home affairs.

It required to be endorse, would it endorse by the same department or by Ministry of Foreign Affairs instead?
