I have just bought return flight tickets to Busan, South Korea last night on the AA Sales. However, from my itinerary it is stated that the flight to Busan takes a whopping 8-hour (8.15 am - 4.00 pm) whereas the flight back to KL is only 5 hours (5.00 pm - 10.20 pm). I don't understand the vast difference between the durations. Anyone experienced this before?

Thank you in advance for your replies.

Time zone difference.

I am aware of the time difference, but isn't the time in Korea only 1 hour ahead of us?

All the time in Airasia itinerary is in local time. Your inside the plane time will be 6 hours 45 min to Korea and 6 hours 20 mins to KL. Difference by 25 mins, maybe taking a slightly different path when back KL?

Thank you very much for the clarification. I understand now smile.gif

Tried to check-in for a few days already for my trip next week but I was given the seats at the very last row (row 51). Indirectly forcing me to buy seats sad.gif I have traveled AA for so many times and this is the first time they're offering me such bad seats. May I know if anyone tried delaying the check-in to right before the flight to get better seats? Seat selection is so expensive for AAX cry.gif

I sat at 51 before. other than the take off and landing shakes, louder engine sounds, I think it's still ok. Very near to toilet, convenient. And you can stand up and stretch your legs any time you want.

There are pro and con in the last seats. Save your money.

Can the seats be reclined? It'll be a 6.5-hour flight so I'm really concerned about the comfort of sitting in the last seats. If it's a 1-2 hour flight I'd happily obliged with the seating arrangement.

Don't think AAX seat selection fees are expensive, unless you are talking about the premium flatbed seats.
Choosing a seat is only RM39 if I'm not mistaken.
*
It's RM28 but since I'd booked for 4 people it'd be quite a price to pay since all of us are allocated seats on the last row.

Took AirAsiaX on the last seat (row 51) last night. Mad bumpy I almost vomited during landing.

The last row always feel weird. At that moment when plane take off and lift up, you can feel you actually drop down a bit, before plane goes up.
When landing, right at the moment the wheel touches the ground, you feel you going down, then up.
Fulcrum thing due to rear landing wheel.

But being at the far end of an object, the vibration/movement is always the worse.

True. Thought I'd be able to take it since it was my trip back from a 1-week holiday (thought I'd be too tired to care). Would rather pay the next time I get such bad seats again.

hi, what approximately does the travel period for the upcoming AA Big sales?
would it be as near as Mar-Apr 2015?

checked the existing price for Osaka during Mar-Apr, at least rm1.2k+

would this BIG sales offer discounts for those flights?

never really bought AA tickets during big sale before
*
If I'm not mistaken it's from June 2015 to Jan 2016. I actually bought return tickets to Osaka during a non-promotional period for only RM800 two months before my trip.

traveling which month?

Traveled in April 2014, tickets bought in February 2014. I was hoping to get cheaper tickets but I guess mine was really cheap already.

I guess you must have bought them during AA promo?
currently AA websites no longer showing promo price.. does this mean they are preparing for the BIG sales coming monday? hmm.gif
*
It might be of promo price but I didn't have to fight at 12 am (booked in the evening, no waiting room whatsoever). I think if you manage to grab the lowest price during their promo period it'd be much cheaper than that.

I don't know, but I tried my regular AA member ID to login to BIG site, I can log in
however, I didn't get any BIG points at all from my earlier AA bookings, because before this I didn't really care much about this reward program doh.gif

They will only grant you points after the travel dates.
