Guys, my power window at driver side have very loud crack sound, the moment open & when almost completely close. Sounds like bracket or plastic crack, very loud.
The motor still running, but wonder is anything loose or bracket issue.

Any sifu have experience to share?

cepat cepat... drool.gif
no idea bout that but i think u can go proton SC to get it checked since it is covered under warranty.shudn't be a problem claiming warranty for that...does that consistently happen? if yes, then u can show to the SC guy there and they will know wad to do.... icon_rolleyes.gif

Thanks for reply, bro.

Too bad is past the warranty, going to 3 years car. When within warranty the sound not that loud, ask the SC check, cos the sound not that loud, so they not even open to check, say is normal. But now getting loud. Sounds more like bracket...

Any idea how much for a bracket? Should back to Proton change or outside accessory shop will do?

i thought power window got lifetime warranty?d question now problem is not rectify...bracket sound is just the assumption.perhaps u can just give SC a try, at least after they rectify for u then u knw wad is d problem, ask them whether still can claim or not. if cant, then u can change at workshop since u already know wad's d problem.

of course if proton charge u a reasonable price to get it fix, y not just fix at proton on the spot?

I thought the Power Window lifetime warranty is start from don't know which batch or year car. No idea my car included or not?

Another question is, I used to service my car at home town (of course is Proton SC), but I work at KL, can I claim at any Proton SC at KL, or should I back to my normal service SC?

I just replace my gen2's rear right power window last sunday. the window fell down when i tried to close it. it was the plastic roller broken. spent rm38 to buy the part and replace myself.

but sadly after reinstall the door panel, now it doesn't fit-in tightly although no broken clip. i understand the part is super cheap so i shouldn't complain when it fail. but somehow i rather it's expensive and long lasting. you know lar, opening those dashboard/door panel a few time will become loose and those tikus sound will come out...
*
Wow, if that cheap no need to spend few hours wait at SC. But not sure is same problem or not? If less than rm50, I rather pay myself. Go SC need to apply leave, wait few hour, if lucky got stock if not...have to go another trip.

rclxms.gif luckily it is.. i used that window only 3 times so far  sweat.gif then broke d

Ha....My one use it very often, until almost 3 years only got this sound. Stay condo, office car park, so daily at least 4 times open and close, if enter toll...open again......haha

It should be the Regulator problem, the motor should be fine. Anyway, will visit SC tomorrow, see is true or not?

Loud pop sound? Try lubricating it. Mine solved by lubricating by COSE.
Might be window bracket. Replaced mine after 2nd service.
CoSE should have stock. But you better make appointment before going. They don't entertain walk-in already I guess.
Saw the reception lady ask an uncle to make appointment when I was there yesterday to claim door actuator.
*
Just an update here, SC direct change the Regulator and Motor, so means whole set for me. rclxm9.gif

And is FOC, plus add the 'Seal Assy Hood Front' for me. thumbup.gif

What hood front?
*
Yes, like Fubar mentioned is the rubber they put in front of the air intake. Cos normal authorise SC never add for me at all. I go to direct Proton Edar SC, they just add without I inform them.

Actually what is the purpose to add this? My last service also they added it for me. Improve performance?  hmm.gif

Another question:
My gear indicator light at the gear console is gone. At night my gear console is dark. Normally when turn on headlamp, the numbers will light up. Been complaining about this since the 3rd service, but never entertained. Always told me not enough time to take out and check. Until last service, finally they checked for me, and informed me the bulb is burnt, need to change.
Problem is: Bulb x1 = Rm5.++ <- ask me to pay. ok, nvm, only RM5.++. no big deal.
BUT: Labour charge = RM 50.++/ hour x dunno how many hours <- this also ask me to pay!

Is this normal? My car is still under warranty period, and its not as if i made the bulb spoilt. It was spoilt before my 3rd service! Ask me to pay for the bulb, is already stretching the limit, now even the labour fee to change the bulb also have to pay? Correct ka? If correct, then i diam diam bring to change lo...  cry.gif
*
I have no idea what is that for, based on logic should be block the air intake only. Not sure what else.

You should go to another SC, then ask to change the bulb. I also kena this labour charge before. My even worst, no part need to replace, just ask them to check the sound, end up just 1 Nut have to tighten it up, that also I'm the one let them know where the sound come from. End up charge me labour... mad.gif

Right after I never visit that SC again, went the other SC they didn't charge if under warranty.
