Hi sifu-sifu, my family have a proton persona in year 2008. I think is 1st generation with bulb backlight. How to identify production batch for you guys reference?

My family notice that that car is consuming a lot of fuel (1.5x) compared to my 2000cc old perdana. eg, travelled from klang to kampar, Perak at highway consumed half tank.

I also learnt the true accurate FC calculation info in this thread guidelines and registered at fuelly.com.
I have a question here. under "add a car", what is the difference between Track fuel-ups with trip miles/km or odometer reading? I still don't understand.

What is the engine type for Persona? I am newbie in car.
I plan to install a device named EFR to improve FC.
What are the possible causes that lead to my car high FC. Is that CamPro engine poor performance and heavy car weight? Any other mod to improve FC?

Thanks for help! notworthy.gif

That time, I was too young for car. ya, judge from car fuel meter. Persona fuel meter is not accurate and steady leh. last time when I was in internship, i thought it is enough when my fuel left half kotak in the morning(in the left, last & looks smaller small kotak). In the evening, it suddenly drop to "finish" and give warning light. I have to drive without air cond and searching for petrol station like mad. So, i dont trust it anymore from that time onward.

Yeah, always service interval and take very good care. Seldom drive it and its mileage is less than 30K only. throttlebody is the part that control air intake right? you guys DIY cleaning it ah?

I get to know EFR from a friend who installed it, he say can improve 5-10 hp. EFR not good ah? Should I go for a dyno test to check my air to fuel ratio? What is LCP? how much it cost? any recommended service? I think I should clean the throttle for my old perdana car too. it aged >15 years already, recently my family pay a lot repair fee on it. Damn it the gear box like shit.

Main purpose to Pasang to reduce FC. then he recommend me this, then he further saying plus an advantage of little hp improvement. That's why I want ask for confirm from sifu-sifu before install it. My family and I driving style is steady n smooth, won't keep over rev or tekan 1. nod.gif

wanna ask...d fc all the while is that terrible?or just lately u found out it became terrible?
Not sure though, all the while is like that. that's why seldom use it. Persona fuel meter is not accurate, but all my family members feel and says it consume more if compare with 2.0 old perdana when fuel up. suppose 2.0 engine FC higher than 1.6 right? now gonna trace with the accurate FC calculation. Just wanna see got any solutions to improve FC only...

Proton Persona 2008 with NGV savings

mengsuan banyak save...tats y got the money to tebucaj
*
NGV, safe to be use kah? if petrol price continue to rise up, perhaps can be a solution to consider too. but, it won't add on more weight to the car and waste more fuel?

Works Engineering LCP - ~RM330-RM350
Mythelogy LCP - ~RM550-RM600

recommended workshop? google "EA Autoworks" or "ZhaPaLang Motorsport"

ok, noted. Whoe! that's is a big difference in price~ Its size and type is standard right? or there are many variation of them?

Yes, affect a lot. I'm in opinion that this is a MUST HAVE MOD for PE. Without it, I would not want to drive PE in city. Move like siput from slow speed or standstill (auto tranny point of view).

It "corrected" the main weakness of PE, the weak low end torque (very slow pickup from standstill and slow speed). With LCP, you can now safely match pickup speed with any other standard vehicle at this range. Extremely satisfying in closing distance during bumper to bumper jam. Note that LCP does not add HP nor create additional torque. It just move the torque chart earlier so you achieve higher torque much faster.

Looks like I have to persuade and convince my dad about this. He is a type of person who "won't change if it didn't spoil" Any other weakness of 1st gen Persona? Now I just realized my car don't have iafm -.-

Sifu-sifu, can share your Persona (especially 1st gen) each gears shifting speed?

Anyone recommend the brand and place to buy for super sticky adhesive double tape to stick those accessories at outside of the the car body like plastic raincover above side window....

Guys, what brand ATF for Persona 1st gen is recommended? change every 20k mileage right? now my car approaching 25k.

How to know the stock brake pad is going to worn out?

I found out that my car butt, got "yiek yiek" sound, comes from suspension i think. it has been occurred at very low mileage long time ago.... just normal as the string working out or got problem?
